Janet, our problem is that we LOVE everything!!! Shopping for me is like a drug, it gives me a high. So needless to say, I have to avoid it like an addict. Let me into a quilt shop and I can drop big $$$ without even thinking.

Today, I hope to get somethings organized. Didn't sleep well even though I was tired. DD#4's dog yipped at my bed off and on throughout the night. I considered deyipping him at one point. Had a chat with DD#4, she will have to lock him in her room at night.

Janet, enjoy your trip, 90+ degrees, I'd be melting by now.

Phyl, I'm still shuttering over the salmon & ketsup...Check in later, TTFN

I use WAY less catsup than I used to!

Sometimes, for fish, I mix miracle whip and catsup.... my DIL got me started on that.

Phyl - WTG on the gym - great price for all you get... It was cold here for the last couple days - windy too - today 85 then it looks like 95 and up for the rest of the week - I guess our heat has finally arrived.

How cool to see your band.. How's your back doing

Last night did a spreadsheet - annual of where I spend my $$ the problem is I don't know what I spend on my Visa - I know it included vacations (charging air/rooms etc) car repairs - clothes etc - That is my biggest expense each month - but I know I went on a cruise - canada - texas twice (feb to visit Aunt then Oct for Funeral) - used it to pay some of my bro's funeral expenses (which I was reimburse) I gotta quit pulling out my Visa..

Well need to get dress for the gym - Debbie is picking me up at 9 to go out of town shopping Moreno Valley Mall (60 miles away) Like I need to shop ;0) - I promise not to buy anything that I don't just LOVE !!!

Yeah, I'm excited about the gym thing. Best part is, it's almost as close as the distance from the RV to the pool! Well, maybe twice that far, but probably less than a mile away. Maybe a little too far to walk because I don't want to be tired when I get there! But easy scooter ride on days when it's not raining! Price is great! And I think I could add Earl for only $10 a month... but he says NO!

Back is doing okay... minor aches and pains but nothing like 3/10!! That was horrible! I'll see if I can post one of those pictures where you can see the band and the port. Pretty interesting!

A spreadsheet.... Earl would be proud of you!! LOL!

Don't know what kind of Visa you have... but our costco American Express is great.. At the end of the year you get a printout of everything you spent and what category... travel, gas, restaurants. And the rebates are good... Got a check at the end of the year for almost $350. And we can go online any time to check our balance or see where we're spending our money. Have to have a backup cc as there are places that don't take AmEx. Tracy & Jim use a card that racks up air miles.

But... yeah, it can be easy to pull out the plastic when we know we shouldn't! But.... I WILL have to check out that Moreno Valley Mall that you always talk about... next winter!!

Stupid gym!! Yeah... so put up a sign... NO WATER!!

I am using less catsup, honest. Using a lot of hummus... my latest snack.. in fact, lunch yesterday.. one rye crisp cracker, thin layer of lite cream cheese, hummus, and a little salmon on top... or... Earl bought me a can of smoked oysters... very good... put a couple of those on top. Says the whole can is one serving and fairly low calories, but so far I think I've had about 4 servings out of that can. Have enough left for one more cracker.

Weather is GREAT everywhere in the country except here! I didn't even wake up until almost 9:30 a.m.!! I planned to sleep in today.... but not THAT late!! No sun coming in the window to wake me up! it's 50 degrees outside now and showers predicted for pretty much the whole weekend I think! I did manage to squeeze in some cruising this week between the rain drops. And Earl is making me keep a big umbrella in my basket at all times! I'd walk over to the d..... Surf Shack if the weather was decent. Did it with Candice one day last week when we were walking the dogs. Bus stop/park and ride is about half way, so... can stop and rest if back/hips are hurting. Usually a few minutes sit down and the pain goes away. And I keep bugging my Surf Shack lady that she told me last summer she was going to put out a table and some chairs! She has limited space... and limited income. Doing good with her new mobile van, though. And... as she pointed out, there's a bench in front of the nearby tavern where I can sit and rest. And Tracy and I have used it a few times. They don't care. The owner is the one leasing her the space for her coffee shack.

But... to get back to the subject I was pursuing... the weather here sucks!!

Well.... Happy May Day, everyone!!

8_4_122.gif

It's Tracy's 44th birthday

and we are going out to Tokyo Steakhouse with them tonight.

And it's opening day of the boating season!

Whoppee!

Big stuff going on in downtown Seattle...

in the rain, no doubt!

We had a few wobbly pops, walleye fish for dinner to die for, then into the casino for poker and keno... I didn`t get the hang of keno( I always want more input than it allows :o) so I learned the poker machine.... I won about $50 so was deleriously happy and bought a cool sweat-hoodie from Cassidys Bar, underneath the caption reads BIG COCK COUNYRY, Plentywood, Mt. and a big caricature of the PHEASANT!!!

Was I ever glad that i bought it, it was so freeking cold today, wet and we also had SNOW.... wtf:mad:

Camped in Minot (MY-not) dòn`t get it??? Cold here, very cold and doing laundry to keep warm... on my first Rum/coke for the day... jusyt to take the road edge off... oh it was scary again today,, bad winds...

Oh forgot to tll you aboiut Steph`s RV for her Kettle corn busomess.ééé really huge RV it sleeps like 6 or 8... massive compared to our little rig... Peter says we are selling it as soon as we get home!!! so who owes who money Janet???

Got some additional shelves put up in the pantry, hopefully enough to get food put away. I also put some wheels on a set of drawers so I can move it if needed in the utility room. I also got a few things moved into the storage shed, not much. I just kind of wonder around trying to figure out where to put things, Definitely ADD.

I'm suppose to be working on my masters unit and I can't seem to get to it. Quite frankly I don't care. Lousy excuse, But that is it. Need to run to the store and get the furries some food. I have to work tomorrow. Its cool and cloudy today, my type of working day. Here is how bad I am at focussing today: spent an hour separating the nails from the screws from the nuts and bolts and putting them into individual containers. Sad, but true. I think it is an avoidance technique. Well, I need to go do something check back later.

Phyl, how wonderful, twins, that must be a bit of a shock! Should be a lot of fun!

Candce, now you get to see the flat section of Montana where I grew up.

I think the last 4 months are cachting up with me. Even with a nap last night I'm still struggle to catch up I don blink, everytime I close the eyes OI keep punching the wrong letters because I blink and the eyes stay shiut.

Well just found out my phone is shut off because DD#4 owes...$1000 to the cell phone company. She just came home and wanted me to pay it. NO WAY IN HELL. So I will take her sorry butt into the cell company, cancel the subscription, and go get my own phone and she will go with out. She has me royally pissed. She borrowed $800 from her dad, which means she must have owed close to $2000. grrrrrrrrrrrr, I'm awake now.

Holy cats, thats a lot of yacking on the freeking phone.. Giver her a THUMP in the head.... who should pay HER phone bill.... HER!! Ask her who she thinks comes along on a white horse and pays YOUR bills!!!!

Nah Candice, that is a lot of texting outside of our network. Her phone is off and if she doesn't make payments on time they will turn the bill over to collections. Not my problem.

I'm home, quiet day. Miss molly is sitting in the middle of the livingroom chewing up a piece of bark. Huge mess and I'm ignoring it for right now.

Worked my tail off, cleaned the pond and got it ready for Mother's Day crazies, loaded all kinds of mulch and trees. Put a 400 pound pine tree into a truck with a topper. Had to crawl into the truck and push it back with my feet. Tried to electrocute myself, had shooting flames and sparks. humm, would that be workman's comp? Melted the outlet and plug, but just spooked me.

I would love to crawl in and sleep for a week, 5 more weeks....then I will have a couple of days off!!

Need some food, check in later, TTFN

Hi everyone.

I'm online tracking Mindy's last flight to Bentonville. She's officially an Arkansawonian now. This is really hard. We're going down over Memorial Day to help with little things like hanging pictures, installing another rod in her closet and stuff like that, but for real, we are empty nesters now. I wish I could have gone with her, just to help her get settled, but I have to work--damn. The Long Islands' are numbing the pain for now. . .

Candice--looking for updates. . .

Phyl--the x-rays do not look good to me. How rediculous (sp) that you have to jump through yet more hoops!

Carla--how do you do it? Do you ever sleep? I am humbled--as usual.

Ok, so I've had too many Long Islands. . . what else is there?

Linda, hugs, to have your baby move. I know they all have to grow up, I'm just not ready for it. Although, I'd gladly give you DD#4 right now. She is like a toothache.

Denise, was your friend a single parent? Does her daughter still have family? It has been a strange year. I've had 2 parents of students die, one was a suicide, the other a car accident. The kids seem to be holding okay, but I don't know how they do it. Heck, I'm old and still not dealing well with my dad's death. Everynight I find that I still include him in my prayers. Then the little things...dad's favorite candy was black licorice, it seems to be everywhere right now. Silly I know.

Tried scrambled eggs and 99% FF ham with some cheese. It was okay, wasn't able to eat much of it. Don't ask what I ate instead. Overtired = weakness = Ben & Jerry's .... I know, it shouldn't be in the house.

Janet, I know the innards, and they are talking right now. No one else was around. The pines are located on the opposite side of the nursery from the cash register and there was only 2 of us working. The other lady is 66, yeah, I'm really going to have her push it in.

Suppose I should get busy, want to hard boil an egg for my salad today.

DD#4 didn't come home again last night, she SAID she went to a study group for A&P, yeah right, I don't know too many study groups that last all night. She just doesn't get it, DON'T LIE. Her life seems to be one perpetual lie after another. She SO needs to grow up. I know I need to enforced some rules. I just can't seem to figure them out, lame excuse. Suggestions are welcome on what the rules should be for an almost 24 year old that is acting like a 16 year old.

Oooops.... Knew that ass-kicking was coming!! Wait until she sees the "Ben & Jerry's" post! UH OH!!!

More lashes with a wet noodle for you!

Ditto, Karla.... and I'M 66 and I would've helped you push it in! And I'm a weakling wimp!!

Turkey meat loaf sounds good! Got some Lean Cuisines at Albertson's yesterday... on sale this week for $1.88 w/Albertson's card. And if you buy 6 of them you get a free box of Skinny Cows! So I got a box of Truffles... 100 calories each, not 140 like the ice cream sandwiches.

Speaking of kicking ass, I think you need to kick that DD's ass right out of the house!! I think you need some empty nesting and she does not appreciate what she has. She is inconsiderate and takes advantage of you! Sorry... just telling you how I see it! Let her go live with her "study group"!:smile2::blushing:

:mellow::thumbup:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
