I started losing weight right away because of changing my eating habits, If your asking when you get restriction that depends no one can really say because everyone is different and also get different fill amounts.

The question is really hard to answer. I agree with Kimaly...do you mean when do you hit restriction? When do people ON AVERAGE start to lose? Weight loss isn't just tied to fills.

It took me 7 fills or so to get restriction. I found my "sweet spot" at fill 8, and that's when i really started losing. I started eating less with the first fill. I was told by the NP at MY surgeon's office (based on his patient base and how conservative/aggressive he is with fills) it takes many of his patients 6 months or more to start losing.

That's just for me though; it really doesn't apply to you. You may have an aggressive doc, you may lose without any fill, you may take longer.

Thanks guys for your responses. I guess I was asking when do u start to feel more restriction. I lost thirty pounds the first 4 weeks and since things have been slow.. I've had two fills already with a total of 4cc and I only lost about 4 pounds since I started receiving the fills. Starting to get frustrated because I do eat right and exercise.

It's a process. It can take a while. Just be patient! (easier said than done I know but many of us have been there and that's all you can do!)

It sure does take patience!! I think my fill last week has me finally at where I want to be on restriction - and to the point I was thinking I would get to at the time I got started on the whole surgery effort !!

I'm at 10cc in a 14cc band and took a long time to get here. Before the fill I could eat most anything. Now I am eating very small portion and stuffed. I had one incident that I think was a "PB". What needed to come up came up in one "burp". I think that must be the difference between PB and actually throwing up ... once and done is PB - repeatively in the same time frame is the other. (sorry to be gross).

(need to add 1cc on 7/30/09 for total of 10cc in below tracking).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
