Please help me..is this a food intolerance?!?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on July 2, 09. I went out to eat at Cracker Barrell, and had an egg, a few bites of chicken (less than an ounce), no breading or skin, with gravy on it to make it mushy, and some cheese potato casserole, about 2 teaspoons.

Then I had a few more bites, about 3 hours later.

Within About an hour I was sick, feeling like I had the stomach flu. I had terrible stomach cramps, felt like I was going to vomit, but never got sick, just felt like I was going:eek: to die!

Is this an intolerance or did I just really eat too much and tick my stomch off?

thanks, I will never eat what I ate again, please dont be mean...

I'm not going to be mean, just honest. chicken with gravy isn't a mushie, I don't think (chicken is notorious for getting "stuck") and if you're supposed to be on mushies (depends on what your doc prescribed) you've "cheated" and may have been stuck or had a slip.

IF you are on mushies only you may want to call your doc tomorrow and see if he thinks you need to be checked out. If you were already approved for "solids" (which is what chicken is...and which usually, but not always, isn't allowed until week 4-6 depending) then you probably didn't chew it well enough.

My doctor told me when I was on mushie I could have whatever my family was eating. I just had to chew it into a mushie in my mouth or blend it in the blender. So chicken can be a mushie if you make it that way. It sould to me like you over ate.

It seems each person has a different post op diet. chicken was NOT a mushie on my diet. Surgeons usually "tweak" the post op diets to THEIR client base...they all have different styles of surgery, different patients, different rates of recovery etc. So she would need to use HER post op diet as a guide, not anyone elses. As I said, per mine, she REALLY ate way ahead of the game. But mine isn't the one she's supposed to follow; her doc gave her guidelines for her use.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
