Ok so i completed my six month pre op diet plan that was required by my insurance(BCBS). I saw my nutrishionist every month and was successful , i lost 32lbs. But now that i am just waiting for an answer from the insurance. i feel like i lost my will power, i dont feel as motivated. I dont want to fail. What shall i do?? Its like i need that support.

I can relate. It's kind of like you finally run out of steam and just fizzle out on the whole experience. You just jumped through all the hoops, you're entitled to take a mental breather. I think you will get your zeal back and be ready for the next part of your journey! Hang in there.

Support..well that's what we're here for !! I can see how waiting for the insurance approval is anti-climatic, Im there too...also with BCBS but once I get an answer which hopefully will be a postive one I think that all the real prepping starts !! Hang in there LuvNMe, it sucks that we need to go through all the hoops for something that not only will improve our lives but save the insurnace fat cats some cash, but in the end its us who will really benfit and get back that sexy body that's hiding under here...some..where.

Here's what Im doing which is post a picture of myself when I was a little hottie @ 5'4/ 145lbs and just remind myself how good it was and how good it felt and I start thinking of all the things that I want to do ( and all the ways to take advantage of my hubby..LOL) once i get there again !!!!

i felt the same way when waiting for insurance approval. i was anxious and focused only on that approval ...not at all on weight loss efforts. i was in a sort of weight control limbo.

but boy when i got that approval my motivation perked right up and stayed up! right through surgery. it will for you too. hang in there!

After my six month pre-op, I went on a cruise and then got my approval. I didn't really diet during that time but neither did I go nuts. I ended up gaining about 4lbs. in the three months until surgery but once I had the surgery, I had a new focus and things are going well.

Wow, only 4 lbs after a cruise?! That is definitely like losing 10lbs in my book!!

LOL! And it was an 11 day cruise, too! But I was good and took the stairs a lot and ate salads for lunch and such.

I also slacked of for a couple of weeks during this limbo period where the nutritionist & surgeon have okayed me, but the insurance company has not yet. My solution, when the scale started moving in the wrong direction was to go back to what I was doing at the very beginning of my journey, which is to write down every last thing I eat and drink and track the calories and Protein. The support of and accountability to the nutritionist is a big motivator for me. Although she has okayed me for surgery, I still have to meet with her monthly right up until surgery. I believe I will continue to meet with her post op as well. Best of luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
