Attention!!! Any July 2005 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Had my done on July 19, 2005. I went last Thursday for an appojntment for a fill, but my surgeon (E. Rehnke, Saint Petersburg, FL) said that since I am down 57 pounds in 2 months, and my attitude is going in the right direction, he wanted to hold back a month and maybe give me a fill next month.

I really wanted a fill, but I know that I have to be a partner with my band in re-training my mind about eating habits. It would be much easier with that adjustment, but now its a challenge, and a good one. I have to work with this tool I've got and I've got to re-learn a lot of things....

I think its great, though, that my surgeon is concetrating on helping me re-train my head as well as taking care of my physical aspects.

I was banded July 25, 2005. I have lost 40 lbs. to date. A lot in a small amount of time. I have definetly slowed down and have started exercising to jump start my loss again. I am trying to get by with no fills and really think that I can control this with the help the band gives me. I truly am game for the retraining of my mind about eating and exercise. I know I have to do the work and use the band as the tool that it is.

I have lost 30 lbs since being banded on July 22, 2005. I kind of feel like I'm not doing as well as ya'll are. I have had 2 fills and steadily losing about 2lbs a week.

Thanks to whoever bumped this thread so we can check in on each other! First of all, everyone is doing great! Isn't it great to feel successful at the weight loss thing for once? And know it isn't going to go away?

I'm going to tell what is my "overall" weight loss, from a highest weight of 285. Now, I am 248, so my total loss is 37 pounds. This does not match my ticker, because I started it at 282, my weight at my consultation before surgery. I have lost about 4 inches pretty consistently at every body measurement, like chest, waist and hips. I am two sizes smaller than I was before surgery. Definitely, my weight loss has slowed from a very fast rate at first, but I've only had one fill, by choice. I'm learning to work with the band, and straighten out my head hunger. I need a little wiggle room to do that. Keep on going, July bandmates! Cindy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
