I have the right to stand up for the other side. I'm sorry if this was just meant to be a bashing post with no opposition! For crying out loud. I am entitled to my opinion as are you!

Rodriguez, it's a RANT thread. If you don't like how it comes across, there's this little button called NEXT that you can find something more to your liking.

Again I didn't say that I didn't like how it was coming across or not...I simply said that is how it was coming across and it was a civil discussion until you came in here making personal attacks towards me. Grow up!

Kat, I'm sorry about your brother! That must be very tough. My ex-boss had a son who was in his 30's but mentally wasn't past 3 years old. He still wet his bed, and really didn't KNOW he wasn't age 3. It was definitely tougher on his parents than on him, and they knew that he couldn't have friends like normal kids do.

Although, since he was so young mentally, it was often fun for them because holidays stayed magical. :thumbdown:

I think if DD got stuck at this pre-teen crappy age she's at now, I'd go nuts.

Who's attacking you? I asked you:

"But he WASN'T a little boy, he was a grown man!

So... would you let any 40-something man sleep in bed with your kid/s during a slumber party? Forget that it's Michael Jackson... would you let ANY grown man sleep in bed with your kid/s??"

That was based on your comment:

"He thought he was a little boy...there was nothing dirty about him sleeping in a bed with kids when they were having a sleep over!"

I think your sentiment is foolish. I questioned you legitimately as to whether you would allow your child/ren to sleep with some neighbor guy during a sleepover. In what was is that attacking you?

Trust me, if I was attacking you, you'd know it. And thus far I have bitten my tongue with your comments to the point of drawing blood.

I'm actually interested to know, too: Would anyone here give permission for their kids to sleep in the grown neighbor's bed?

It was my impression, and vague memory - I'm sure a fan will correct me with actual facts, not just a slap-and-run "screw you" - but didn't the parents NOT know he was sleeping with them at the sleep overs? It was Neverland Ranch, and as a parent I still wouldn't have cared, but I also don't think I would have suspected that there wouldn't have been a guest room.

Yeah, I know... I still hold onto this old-fashioned notion that creepy chimp-loving, mask-wearing, baby-dangling, crotch-grabbing pervs should not be sleeping with other people's children. Guess I need to grow up and get with the program.

Good grief! I imagine in person she is a really juvenile!

Unfortunately, There are plenty of child predators in this world. I don't like any of them either so I am not just picking on MJ.

I was saying that in his mind it was n't dirty or creepy to him..

I don't let my son stay a night away from me with ANYONE

And don't forget the "happy juice" (wine) he was feeding them. Or the secret room. Oh, and I just got reminded about the buzzers that went off in the hallway as people approached his bedroom (the one where the secret room was off of). Or the cameras. Yes, all very innocent. *roll eyes*

Darlin', you're not even on my radar. Who's talking about you anymore? I asked you questions, you claimed I was bashing you, then you admitted that you wouldn't let your son sleep with anyone. Yet somehow Michael was an innocent little man-child. It's over.

I watched the interview about it and he said that it wasn't like that, that sharing your bed with people you love is one of the greatest things you can do...to him it was innocent...in his mind. I am not arguing that he wasn't troubled,,,he was we all are to some extent in different ways. I went a different way then he did. I was abused/raped/molested when I was younger and it caused me to grow up fast instead of "staying young"...we all handle things differently and not all of them are the right choices.

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

        Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

        Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

        I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

        I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

        BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
