hi everyone,

i posted yesterday and today about restriction and tightness.

well, just got back from doctors and had to be unfilled completely..........only had 1 fill.

why you ask....i had a spinach salad wednesday for lunch...after lunch i felt fine.

went to eat dinner, could keep anyhing down not even liquids, this happen till today.

well i actually had a piece of spinach stuck in my pouch and it looked like it had made its on pouch, hence why nothing would go down.

doctor said only second time he has seen something like that.

first time was a woman shallowed a whole grape and it got suck.

anyway i am now completely unfilled for 1 month. bummer!

oh yea, he said he carefully for a day or two, and back to normal food....but of course no spinach or lettuce!!!

I eat lettuce, spinach, mustard greens, celery etc. with no problem. I think this is a rather unusual situation. I am finding that I only think I have been chewing all of these years. Now that I get to see it come back up if I do it wrong, I am amazed at how big the particles are sometimes. I finally understand what people mean when they say chew, chew, chew. Then chew a little bit more. Personally, I wouldn't rule out a food unless you find that you don't tolerate it after several tries. I'm sorry it went badly for you. I hope the swelling goes down soon and you start to feel better....

I always wondered if that could happen with all the different types of lettuce leaves out there. I eat spring mix lettuce and I cut my salad leaves up before I eat it because I have always feared this happening. I hope it never happens again and I hope the month goes by quickly so you can get your fill back. Yikes. that must be tough!

Wow! I had my 1st salad tonight since my surgery! I've been terrified of lettuces for that reason.... and now I've just eaten a salad... scary! I might have to return to my no lettuce rule..

I am concerned that so many people are thinking that this is a normal occurrence with lettuce, and they're ready to swear off of it. I think it is a rather unusual situation! I eat greens of all types. Just tonight I ate Dhomas wrapped in steamed grape leaves. I think if you chew you are not likely to have this sort of thing happen. OP, I do hope you're feeling better now.

Lol, it sounds disgusting but I've thought the same thing - I thought I CHEWED that!!!

Still, at least what comes back out of MY stomach beats the entire hotdog my son threw up last week. Seriously, it had some bite marks in it and that was it!:bored:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
