First taste of "real" food!

OMG, I never thought cottage cheese would taste like heaven! LOL Today is my first day off of liquids and I'm eating cottage cheese! Funny thing is, despite how many times I chew it, it feels like it's getting stuck in my throat -- not my band. I'm dying to take a sip of water!!!!

I hear you!!!

I went in for my post-op this morning and he asked if I had tried mushy stuff yet. I said yes, I did last night! (It was AWESOME! I made the squash casserole that's in the mushy food recipe thread in the food area, and it was okay - I'd probably make a couple of changes the next time I make it, and I also made mashed potatoes! AHH!)

He wants to see me back in 3 more weeks, which will be 1 week after I have started back on normal foods and then the week after that I get my first fill! I scheduled both of those appointments this morning. Yay!

I hear ya guys!! I felt the same way last friday when i was able to start eating creamy soups!! Its 106 degrees in Az ...but did i care...nooooooooo that hot soup was the bomb!! LOL This friday I move to mushy foods cant wait for that...egg salad, chicken salad....woot woot!! :mad2::smile:

Oh, that reminds me! On my last two days of creamy Soups, I found a way to make some soups really delicious -- add a couple T. of FF sour cream!! I had it with potato soup (tasted like a baked potato!!!) and with southwestern corn soup (blended in the blender of course). YUMMMMMMMY!

2 T. of FF sour cream adds only 30 cals., 0 fat, and 1 g. Protein, but tons of flavor!

Thanks for the bit of info...Spidey!! Sounds delicious (will be adding sour cream to my next cup of soup)...i need to find potatoe soup, havent tried that one yet.

I will have to get some, Ann. I am thinking about food ALL THE TIME. Maybe if I make what I can eat taste better it will be easier.

Today I started my mushy / soft food. I put chili in my magic bullet...then topped it w/a little sour cream and cheddar cheese....it was delicious.

I am now 2 weeks out and have enjoyed 2oz of turkey meat loaf and 2 tab. potatoes, your right it is great I was so sick of chobani yogurt (16 gms protein) but does have some sugars...I only had to do liqs the day before and then for 12 days afterwards...Have not had a fill yet. Glad to join the May bandsters....I only had pain med in the recovery room and then used childrens tylenol, but everyone's pain level is very different. Take care all.

Chili sounds SO yummy! Does that count as pureed, or soft food? I am ready to start grabbing food off of people's plates. I am going to have to start eating more... I feel social unacceptability coming on...

Thanks, I will have to try it this weekend. I was just looking at your numbers and we are almost twins. I will be 38 in August, I started at 287 lbs, am now probably 268 and am hoping for 150. How cool is that?

Yes...the magic bullet is a life saver. I puree my food in seconds and you can store the food in the container your puree it in....a must have for us banditos...

hey Crazy...you're right our #'s are about the same. i think i'm done losing all my pre-op / post-op diet weight. now the real work begins. i'm 5'3 and i would love to reach 140 lbs.:thumbup::mad:
