New Surgeon

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is another surgeon in Minnesota doing Lap-Band surgery's. His name is Dr. Peter Billing and he is located in Moose Lake, MN. His phone number is 218-485-5842.

I'm pretty sure he's just starting out, as he had an ad in my local paper and no waiting list. I called on a Monday and he could have seen me that same week. Due to my schedule, I can't see him until Nov. 10th.

When I called the office, I actually talked to him. He asked me some questions and I asked him a few. Much different than the people at Abbot!

Anyway, I'll post again after I've seen him.

Melissa

How exciting!!! He sounds like a breath of fresh air in the whole crazy weightloss surgery lap band chaos! If I knew my insurance would cover him, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a "newer" surgeon. It's not like he got a lap band kit at Target and practiced on a teddy bear...these guys are educated!! Even if I had to drive five hours (which is how far Moose Lake is from my house) I'd still have him do the surgery...the no waiting list is a huge bonus.

Sometimes things just work out the way they are supposed to work out!

Keep us posted!

Megan

Melissa:

Please let me know how it goes. Moose Lake isn't far from where I live...I didn't know there was somebody in Moose Lake. However, after reading your message I see that Dr. Billings might be associated with the doctors in Crosby that I'm considering.

I'm attending an informational session in Crosby the evening of Nov. 17, but I'm anxiously awaiting your reply regarding Dr. Billings.

I'm thinking some of these rural doctors will have a greatly reduced waiting time when compared to the Twin Cities.

Good luck to you on Monday!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. ย Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! ๐Ÿ˜ž
