Hi,

So far I have had a good experience with Dr. Bonner and his staff . I went to the seminar in April . I had my first appt the first week in May. I will have my appt with nutritionist next week . Pre op surgery appt with Dr Bonnor end of june then band surgery in July . Also i had my EGD done last week , I have a very small hiatal hernia but his staff assures me that it will not be a problem . I am a self pay patient which seems to make everything move 10 times faster than insurance. I tried once to have insurance pay but they had to many restrictions and i dont think they would have paid for me anyway. Good luck hopefully I may meet so of his patients at the support group meeting on June 9 I may try to go eventhough Im not banded yet.

I was banded in Oct 2008 by dr. Bonner. so far the experience has been good. he is very kind but not very talkative. I am disappointed that there is really not active support group. I attempted to attend but no one showed up. I have resorted to doing online support.

Hi Susan

Welcome to the group . I was banded by Dr Bonnor July 16 . He did a good job I would say . He is mostly all business , he expects you to follow his diet recommendations . He wants us to understand that we have to work hard for our weight loss , he says the band is not going to do it for you and he's right . I am pretty much on regular food now although there are somethings I will not eat. Mostly I eat Protein and some veggies . I do not eat bread , Pasta or rice I do not drink anything carbonated. My overall experience with Dr. Bonnor has been pretty good, kind of uneventfull which is how i like it. I have had 1 fill so far . i need another one soon . good luck to you . If you have anymore questions just ask.

Is there a Katy Area lapband forum on here? I enjoyed reading this thread but was wondering if there's a larger one for all LBandsters in the Katy, Tx area?

Here are a few links to some threads for Katy-ites. They haven't been active for a while, but maybe they just need a kick start.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
