not good results,another stress test

Recommended Posts

I am wondering about others experiences with the cardioligist & stress tests.

I had a treadmill stress test & was told before I left the office that everything was okay & that I was cleared for surgery from the cardiologist. Now a week later I get a call from the "appoinment maker" that I need to schedule a nuclear stress test b/c my first one was negative & had results of abnormailities (murmur & cardiac dysthrytmia & I cant remember what else, at that point I was kinda numb). Why in the world would the test look good then & now its not. WHat if i CANT complete the nuclear stress test, being that it is so much more strenuous. Is this a sign that my surgery is not going to happen....

Any help, opinions, experiences, will be greatly appreciated.

Now I'm really worried.

My dad had negative tests and found out they were false negatives. He had a 90% blockage in the major valve in his heart. Don't worry, you want to know you are in the best shape for the surgery...don't have it if there is any chance of a problem. I went for a pre-op cardiac eval and the Dr. thought I was having a heart attack based on my blood pressure and some pain on exertion. I had a cardiac cath right then and there and everything came out fine and I had my surgery right on time. I wish you the best and that you have great health.

Hey BigMama

Don't worry until you know.

Exercise tests pick up a lot of false positives and have a lot of false negatives too. They will just want to double check with a more specialised scan.

Hang in there! xx

Hi BigMama......

Anything new at this point? I hope it gets settled and shows you are fine BUT if you are not fine then you need to know now. Just think.....had you not had these tests and found out early that there was a problem....you could very well have died while having surgery or just have a heart attack unexpectantly. AND it may also be nothing......let us know if you have any updates!!!!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
