Hi -

Was banded in October - all has been okay. Today at costco I sampled Macadaian encrusted mahi mahi...and it was HOT. I w/out thinking swallowed the whole thing. I felt a bit stuck but nothing that time didn't help. About an hour later I ate a small Peanut Butter cup...slimed it up. An hour later a Protein shake - couldn't finish it. Two hours later, I was hungry and ate a Fiber One bar...it was feeling VERY uncomfortable about 20 minutes after eating it. I have been sliming now for a couple of hours...did I just irritate it? Someone please tell me what is going on. I am freaking out!!!

TIA

I haven't gotten to the solid food stage yet, so I'm not sure. It could've been some of the crust on the fish. Maybe the nuts were kind of jagged and you just have some irritation. Hopefully it will be better very soon!

Hi:

I would give your pouch a rest by having liquids only today and then mushies only the next day and see if that takes care of it. If not, call your doctor.

I hope you feel better soon.

Sue

Hey Sandiego Mom - sorry about your discomfort - have been there. Don't know if its irritation or a little piece stuck - when it happened to me I was better the next day but I have been seeing info on papaya enzyme (supposed to really help if its a 'stuck' issue) - papaya is the worlds natural most strong tenderizer - helps break things down. (all good things come from Hawaii - right?

if it's irritation - treat like was suggested above - (think post fill diet for 1-2 days)

If still not better - talk to your Dr - Hope you feel better soon!

The Fiber One bars make me feel very uncomfortable after eating one too. I was told by my doc not to eat anything with too much fiber.

Because the food sits in your stomach "pouch" right above the band where it's the most sensitive part of all your stomach you will have reactions to some foods you may not have ever had before.

SO I tried a lil experiment and ate another Fiber One Bar a week later and immediately had a bad reaction! ahaha The Pregresso Soups do the same thing to me as well. And I don't believe those have to do with fiber. But it's something in those Soups that gas me up big time!! Sorry if TMI!!

Just keep tabs on foods you eat. ;o)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
