Hi guys,

It is 8 days til my surgery and I am getting very nervous. How bad is the pain the first few hours after and next day after surgery:crying:

In all honesty (banded March 12th)...you're right, the trapped air does bring pain. However, the outcome of it all is worth the suffering. I'm sure it differs with everyone, but the air has to work it's way out of the body. Walk as much as you can and be strong...remember why you're doing this!

It will obviously depend on the meds that your surgeon prescribes for you during and after surgery. I was just banded on March 9th and honestly, the pain was almost non-existent for me in the hours follwing surgery. My medication they gave me in my IV must have been really good...lol

Because of this though, I think I overdid it with walking around too much that day. I would recommend taking it really easy the first day. I was pretty sore for the next few days. The worst part is definitely the "gas pains". Not comfortable, but they will subside...

Take the meds regularly as they prescibe them and you will be fine! No need to worry...:cursing:

If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to msg me.

:)Ali

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
