Hi, I had the surgery on Dec. 22, 2008 and I have been doing well...lost 30 pounds up until last month but something is going on this month. I am eating so much like I am out of control and back to the old me. I had lost 2 pounds but I have gained them back. I have only had one fill and I see my doctor on Thursday. I feel embarassed to see him but I still can't stop eating....help!:huh2:

Hey Lisamichele, first and foremost, welcome and congrats on your 30 lb loss! Now to the issue at hand, I've only been banded for 1 month and week now but I noticed right before I got my first fill, I was super hungry and making some bad food choices. Are you getting enough Protein in? That is the first question I ask because its very important that you are 1. it keeps you from being too hungry and 2. it helps you lose weight. We're supposed to get between 40-60 grams of protein a day. Also how much did you get in your first fill and how big is your band? My doctor said that if you have a 10 cc band you sweet spot will be between 6-8 ccs and if you have 14 cc band it will be between 9-11 ccs. I only have 3.5ccs in my band right now (10 cc) and I feel the restriction already. Also are you chewing your food really well? The slower you eat your food the faster you will feel full. Don't be embarresed to see your doc on thursday, they're there to help. Plus, he may be able to distinguish way better than I on exactly what's going on with you. Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
