I'm starting day 5 of the pre-opt diet... waiting for it to get easier... not really "physically" hungry, just mostly head-hunger and that is an evil one to fight! But I'm doing it. Lost 11 pds the first two days... gonna weigh again today and see how it's going!!! Good luck to you all!!!

Day 11 today for me too, thank goodness, although I must say it has not been that bad. Mostly I would love a wine (or three) but generally not that hungry at all.

Getting pretty FREAKING EXCITED about getting skinny!!!!!:tongue_smilie:

Well I start day 12 today and haven't really been hungry at all. I got depressed Friday because we have a weight challenge at work and for the week, Fri - Fri. I only lost .6 pounds. That was really frustrating for me. I emailed my dietician and said why didn't i lose. She said that was low normal was 2 - 20 pounds. Hoping this isn't any indication that I won't lose with the band and that my body is just at a standstill for awhile. My calorie intake is around 700-1000 a day on pre-op.

Don't sweat it Sissy, I bet you that your body is going "WHOA, HANG ON A MINUTE! WHERE HAS MY food SUPPLY GONE!!! I'M NOT GIVING UP ANY OF MY STORAGE!!"

Give it time and the body has no choice!

And drink lots of Water - flushes out all the lard! ha ha.

Keep it up!! This WILL happen!

My doc has a week pre op diet of replacing 2 meals with a high Protein shake and the only meal of the day being a low carb low fat diet...

But my neighbor who got the surgery done didn't have any diet except 24 hours of liquid before surgery.

My surgery date is april 1st  yay!!

My doctor has me doing Atkins 2 weeks prior to get rid of the fat in the liver. On day 2 - so far no real hunger just head hunger - supposedly after 2 days your body detox's itself from the sugar, white flour and bad carbs and the head cravings go away. I hope so! I am craving foods I normally wouldn't have!:smile2:

My doc has a 7 day liquid diet. Allowed four shakes a day (like low carb Slim Fast) and other than that it's Water, teas, coffee, broth, etc. Started yesterday and it was horrid. Had the worst headache all day. Today - so far - the headache is gone and doing better. Not really all that hungry so if the headache will just be gone I'll be good.

I am 9 days out from surgery. Dr. Miranda asked me to loose 15 lbs before surgery. I am down 8-10 depending on when I weigh myself. I am hoping I can loose a few more before I fly out.

I will say that I feel hungry somedays, and others I do pretty good. I am a cheat though....yep. Seems everyday I do something I am not suppose to. boo hiss!

One VICTORY is I have cut out eating during the night. Yes...I am a night eater. That is a hard habit to break. Think I got it though. Anyone else on the pre-op diet and feeling tired of it? LOL

It will all be sooo worth it! But gesh already!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
