  1. hello all, I am still here. I have lost a total of 72lbs. I love my new way of life. I have not had any complications and seems like I am just chipping away at this journey. I would like to exercise more frequently but that does not always seem to happen:( I know just go do it. Well the holidays have me a bit apprehensive seeing people I have not seen since last year and I made the choice not to tell many about being banded so far. Anyhow glad I jumped on today and checked in. take care and many blessing to you all.
  2. Ok Bunnies it is then end of day 11. Yeah 4 more days till surgery. I have been doing well with the liquids still, not even a cheat, not even a bite:). When I am cooking for my family I am realizing how much I sacked, well I guess all the way to 323.. Ok so this AM I was down to 308. good nite to all..
  3. God luck with your approval. Also ice breakers sugar free mints are a great substitute for the gum. they even have a fruity flavor one. hope that helps.
  4. The gum thing she said causes you to swallow more air?? I miss my gum and straws the most I think. Sunflower seeds she said are hard to chew to the consistency we need to be swallowing so they are now suggested. Loved them while driving with my diet coke. Now its just me and the radio but thats ok.
  5. Yes the headache is from the carb/sugar withdraw most likely, it does get better I am on day 7.
  6. Hanna Just remember why you started this process. I did it for me and I am not going to fail me. I keep thinking that I cheated and gave up on diets obviously or I would not be here right?? I am 37 and I want my life back for me.. If you can get through the first five days it is a bit easier. I was really tempted the other day and so I took a nap, it worked. just remember to sip your shakes and change up flavors. On day 3 I wanted something sweet so bad I stopped at the liquor store for some juice, I figured a martinellis apple juice would do it, but I found a muscle milk light in banana and OMG was it a saving grace. So yummy after 3 days of so-so shakes. anyhow just hang in there and remember why you are doing this.
  7. ok I am on day 7 of my pre op liquid diet and I have survived and lost 10lbs. yeah me!!! I am feeling much better and I think that it is true after 5 days or so your body forgets about chewing and eating..hmm if i had only figured this out sooner:). Well the 1st is almost here and I am so excited. Also note on using straws for shakes. My nutritionist says no straws after surgery?? to much of and irritant to your new stomach with the air going in first. I cut out straws, caffeine, gum, carbonation, and sunflower seeds about 3 months ago in prep for this so it would not be such a shock to the system with withdraws.
  8. Well I am at the end of day five... I have been ok until this afternoon, the winds are blowing here and my allergies kicked in big time. I wanted to just stay in and eat and it got in my head. I did not cave though I took a long nap and I felt much better aside from the allergies. Well going to bed and looking forward to 4/1 which is getting closer day by day.
  9. Hello I am Susan I am 37 and have been married for 15 years to a awesome husband. We have 2 kids, boy 15 & girl 12, they keep us very busy. When we met I was 145 lbs. I am 5'10'. I am now 313. yikes!! cruel trick god plays on one.. I have been considering the lap band for some time now but at the end of 2008 I decided it was more than that time when I saw the scales at the Doctors office. Not sure how things went so smoothly and fast but why question fate right? So her I am finishing day 3 of my liquids only and 12 days away from getting my life back in control with the tool that can help me finally for good. no more yo-yo. Blessings to each of you. Susan
  10. Hello I am 37 and going to be banded on 4/1. I can see your point even though my ins is paying. But I have done so much prep and research I am confident that I will not fall into that category. I was wondering how aside from the obvious hard work you have had such great results?? please share with me. also what area are you from I am from southern ca. thanks
  11. My doctor asked me if i had a preference and i said that i thought her judgement would be best. she did indicate the lapband is her 1st choice although both are excellent. she just like the results of the way the port adheres on the lapband. She does have patients that come in and say this "-----" is the one i want so she has no problem with either one.
  12. the lapband. how about you. I am just jumping out of my shoes with excitement. I can not wait for this journey to begin.
  13. Hello Bunnies, I just wanted to update that I am all done with pre-ops and that I start my liquid 2 week diet tomorrow morning. I am excited yet scared of the temptations that lie ahead. My husband and kids said that they will do the cooking but we will see 2 weeks is long for them too. lol best wishes to the other bunnies..
  14. hello I am also waiting for april 1st. I am having surgery at Fountain Valley hospital in CA. I will be starting my 2 week liquid diet next wednesday... I am determined that this will be the tool that will finally help me be healthy again..
  15. Hi I have the same date 4/1. I was thinking the same thing on the april fools note. Best wishes to you and maybe we can keep each other up to date on our success. I have about 140 to loose how about you??
