Fabulous February Bandsters Unite!

Recommended Posts

Ja9rhone, I'm truly sorry that you've lost your support. I have not lost anyone during the journey, but early last year I lost one of my sisters. My mother died when I was nine, and I've lost quite a few siblings over the past 15, almost 20 years. Because they all died from illnesses, I try to tell myself that the best thing I can do is to try to stay as healthy as I can, in their memory.

I agree with the previous poster about support meetings, and this site has been very helpful for me.

You know that your mother was proud of you, and would be still.

Take care of yourself, and keep in touch. We're here for you.

Debbie

Hi Everyone,

It's good to see more Feb Bandster. I was banded Feb 25th. So far, I have lost 52lbs, went from a tight size 20 to a comfortable 14. I know I could have lost more if I would just follow all the rules like in the beginning. So, to try and get back on track, I have started a Christmas Weight Loss Challenge. Here is a link if anyone would like to join. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/christmas-weightloss-challenge-105187/.

Lets try to keep in touch.

Ja9rhone - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Seeing a councelor to deal with your grieve is a wonderful step to staying focused and on track.

I was banded Feb 4th and have lost just over 60lbs. However, I have been stuck at the same weight for the last 3 months. I know I have been cheating, I just need to sit down and figure out what I have been doing to cheat because I dont think I even realize that I am cheating:(

First: Ja9rhone I'm so very very sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts.

I was banded Feb 10th '09 I was doing great until the end of the summer. I was down 58lbs but have been losing and gaining the same 5lbs since the end of August. It seems that I've fallen so far off the wagon I can even find the wagon to get back on anymore. I haven't been exercising and I've been doing ALOT of stress eating. For the last couple of months I've gotten back to putting myself on the back burner. Both my mom and my disabled brother have needed most of my time for one reason or another. At times I get so frustrated all I can do is cry and or eat. How can I get back on track??? I've tried doing my food log (which I did religiously in the beginning), getting to the gym and support groups have been impossible...with my, my mom's and brother doctors appointments there isn't time in the day. I want and need this to work so badly, I can see clearly in my mind the results I want/need, but it's almost as if I'm frozen. Right now I'm down 53lbs. HELP!!!

I wonder if anyone would be interested in checking in, say once a week, sort of an online buddy system to help us all, keep us motivated?

Just a thought.

Hi Serenity - Great Idea, to get myself motivated I joined the forum (two weeks ago)

Christmas Weightloss Challenge - Have lost 2 pounds, the target is 10. But every little bit helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
