I had my first fill today - 3ccs. liquids are going down and I ate about a little brunswick stew for dinner.< /p>

I had stalled out on my loss and I was starting to eat a little more each week. It was good timing for a fill. I just hope it makes a difference.

Hi all,

Had my first fill last Wednesday (2cc's). I wasn't expecting to get it but it wasn't bad at all. The worst part was I had just gotten the ok for a full food diet but that was short lived. After a fill my program requires 3 days of liquid diet then another 3 of day of soft food. So far everything is going down fine. I do notice I can't eat as much earlier in the day however in the evening I don't seem to be as full but I am satisfied. I'm still consistently losing about 2lbs a week.:(

My doc only put in 1cc for my first fill.....I am wondering if it even went into the band as I can eat as much as before which is too much. When he injected I could feel the cold Fluid enter at the needle site but felt nothing else. He could have missed for all I can tell. I go back in two weeks for another fill. Luckily I can go back every two weeks until we get it right.

MargenOhio I have 3.8cc in a 10cc band and can eat pretty normally, so don't worry about only having 1cc and being fine to eat anything! I'm getting my second fill tomorrow, long over due because I had lots of issues when I went for my second fill originally, and I'm hoping I'll finally have some restriction!

I had my first fill 4.4 cc on 04/09/09. I have no problem getting everything down as well. I also have little restriction, but I won't be able to go back until 04/29/09. I am not losing weight this week, are you?

wow, you were banded in on 2/11 and have lost fifty pounds? That's about 10 pounds a week? Are you eating anything? Were you on a pre-op diet of some sort? I was banded on 2/24 and I just hit 20 pounds. I am happy that I am losing, but I can't imagine it dropping that fast? What's your secret???

Heya JulsJourney!

I think they said my average was about six pounds per week as of my last weigh in.

I'm getting my 1000 calories a day. I drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast, usually a Protein Bar or shake for lunch and then that leaves enough room for dinner and a snack or two in there.

I also bike about 4 times per week and have just started lifting weights again this week.

I just make sure to get my 60 grams of Protein a day and drink at least 60 oz of Water.< /p>

So, no real secret, I'm just sticking to what my Docs told me to do and trying to stay focused. There has been a few days where I've gone over my calories, but those are very rare (like Easter dinner).

I used to skip breakfast and lunch, so the Protein Shakes really help me out, even though my bariatric coordinator told us we really should eat solid foods for breakfast- but the shake usually curbs my appetite until at least lunch, and I feel good and satisfied so I'm sticking with whats working.

:)

Congrats!! Isn't it such an awesome feeling? I was banded on 2/5/09 and (as of today) I've lost 72 pounds since surgery. Like you, I follow everything my doctor has told me. I also exercise 6-7 days a week and do a lot of walking. I actually look for ways to exercise, be it parking further out or taking the stairs - just anything to move my body, and it has made all the difference.

I've had one fill about a month ago and I feel satisfied with my meals - not necessarily full, but satisfied. Anyway, getting banded was the best decision I've ever made!

Fantastic job lapbandgirl4life!!!

I agree, best decision I ever made. I know from many, many past experiences that I've never lost this much weight and still felt this good. Usually by the first month or so I'm ready to chew my own arm off, but since the surgery I don't have those old hunger pains like I used to.

It's weird...it's not like anything I can ever remember feeling before. Like someone just flipped a switch and all of a sudden a little food goes a long way and I don't sit around obsessing over when my next meal is or what I'm going to eat.

Congrats to both of you lapband4life and TheB!!!!! That's great. I was banded on 2/10/09 and have lost 37lbs post surgery and 10 pre surgery. Until recently I've haven't gotten to the gym as much as I should but I've picked up the pace recently. Next follow up isn't until 5/20, can't wait to see the results. Keep up the great work!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
