I've been waiting for this day for a long time

So Monday is my surgery and I have done everything I possibly can to prepare. I am so excited. I joined this community hoping to find people just like me and answers to questions doctors just can't answer. A lot of people ask me if I'm nervous and I'm not. I'm just really anxious to start losing weight. I've been slowing gaining weight since the birth of my son 4 1/2 years ago. I can't wait to be back to my normal self. I'm 31 year sold and I've got to get this under control before I get too old. The strange thing is I love to be active but since I have over 125 lbs of extra weight on me, nothing is fun to do. My back hurts, my legs fall asleep, I swell, I sweat, I lose my breath. It's crazy. I always notice that I am the fattest person in the room. I can't wait to start losing weight so I can do all the things my friends do. I'm looking to add friends, so hit me up!

Congrats on your surgery in less than 2 days!!!

One suggestion....bring lip balm with you to the hospital. My lips were so dry afterwards and could only take small sips of Water.

Good luck !

I was not nervous before my surgery either! You will be so happy in a couple of days. I went back to work a couple of days after surgery and have not looked back since. I wish I would have had the option to have my band when I was 30 rather than 46 (now 47) - but it was so worth it.

Welcome LBT!!

Congrats on your upcoming date! I'm almost 3 months out & would not change anything for the world. It took me almost 2 1/2 years to get approved too.......but it is sooo worth it.

It was rough in the beginning but now it's smooth sailing so far. It's a huge learning experience but there is tons of great advice & knowledge here.

So best wishes to you as you start your "new" life to a thinner & happier & healthier self!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
