Preggy progress/Updates/Tell us how you're doing!

:thumbup:Hi guys! I know we have been keeping each other posted in various other threads, especially "Banded & Hoping to Get Preg", but since the title of that thread doesn't exactly give out the best info, I am starting a new one for all to post their fun pregnancy stuff, like how appointments go, how the baby is, when we find out the sex, due dates, etc etc!!

Here's my info for today!

We had our 13/14 wk appt today. I am very aware of my ovulation/menstrual cycle, so by my dates we are 13 weeks, however the docs say the baby is measuring 14 weeks. Whatever, it's gonna come when it's good and ready! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat today and it was good and solid, also fast. About 160 Beats per Minute, so there is a good chance the baby is a girl if you go off the heart rate literature. Lower rates like 120-145 BPM are often boys, higher rates from 150-180 BPM are often girls.

Other than that, all is well! I'm officially out of 1st trimester and had another lb lost, which is great as that means I technically didn't gain. The first few weeks I was starving so gained 4-6 lbs real fast, then the hunger tapered off and the band got kinda tempermental and tight on certain days, so I have lost what I gained...YIPPEE! Hearing the heartbeat was wonderful, it made it more real, just like our first ultrasound did.

Woo hoo Heather! I bet this is it dollface. Leaking water can usually be only 1 or 2 things, and all of them are related to impending labor. Some women experience a lubrication effect, their vagina will get itself ready for labor, or of course the other obvious sign is your water breaking. Did you know most women's water breaks in bed? Of course, I'm only talking about those women who actually have theirs break, not the ones who get it broken manually by the doctor during labor. If you're dribbling little bits here and there, the baby's head may be floating around on the cervix and a bit of water leaks whenever she moves a bit.

Keep us posted! I myself have been very up and down this week, little things bugging me for no reason, etc. I have 8 weeks left, so I hope this isn't a permanent state of mind until baby arrives! I'm so emotional and borderline depressed!

Well, today is the day. I went to the OB and she said get thyself into the hospital ASAP. She tested it at the clinic and it is indeed amniotic fluid. She said since it happened so early this AM and labor hasn't started, they need to start me on pitocin right away.

I'll keep everyone posted . . . as soon as I am not busy that is :0)

OMG! Heather is in labor!! It's baby day for Heather, finally!!!! Awesome, downright amazing to think you're somewhere in labor right now!!!

Awww, I'm welling up! :(

Well, Ayla came last night at 10:52 PM. It could not have happened much quicker than that. I went from 3 centimeters dilation to 10 in less than 30 minutes as I was getting the epidural in and then it was time to push. I was not even having contractions until they started pitocin at around 6:30 PM.

She is beautiful at 5 pounds and 7 ounces, 18.5 inches, light brown hair, teeny and very adorable and absolutely perfect.

Congratulations to you and your husband on your beautiful baby girl. Enjoy her. They grow up too fast (I know- mine are both married - where did the time go?).

I have been watching your ticker for months and just went on this thread today.

Take care and I wish you well.

I have a question that is not really related to all the super great news on the posts before, but I could really use some advice from all those out there that have been pregnant with the band.

I am 10 weeks along as of today! The only downside is that I have been having all day morning sickness for the last 4 weeks

I feel a little better when my stomach is full, but that is hard when you have the band and are not used to eating to keep it full all the time. I feel like such a pig eating all the time! I haven't gained any weight, but I end up home every afternoon sleeping and then waking up starving and not feeling good all over again.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Help if you can!

Thanks,

bmadsgirl
