If your doc recommended, how many oz do you eat per meal?

Recommended Posts

My post op diet is suppose to be 4 oz of food per meal, 3 times a day, no Snacks. Two oz of Protein, two oz of fruit/veg/carbs.

I'm just curious how this compares to what others eat or what their doctors recommend.

I'm having trouble sticking to it. :)

I worry that I've stretched out my band. I need to gain some control!

Thanks,

My doctor told me "no more than a cup" which I think is very vague but thats how he is overall. I could eat a cup after my 3rd fill but I can only eat maybe 2 oz. TOTAL after my 4th fill last week. I would listen to your docs advice becuase he knows you better than anyone else does (hopefully). Best of luck to you!!

Thanks Losing it,

Yes, I'm *trying* to stick to what he says and what the nurse directs me on...just curious as to if I've done damage to myself...but I think when I do eat more than 4 oz., it is usually slider foods. (Not that that makes it any better!)

It's curious how different each doctor can be. And each patient too! I've had 4-5 fills, I think and I still feel like I could eat just keep on eating, even though I stop myself. One of the lucky ones I guess! Ha!

Mine says 1 cup. The dietician says 1/2 cup. I have had 4 fills and I am lucky to eat the 1/2 cup. Some days it does seem like I can eat more and others I eat less.

Richmond Kaiser tells us we can have 1/4-1/3 cup Protein, 1/4 cup vegetables or fruit, and 1/2 piece toast for each meal. I eat 1/3 cup protein and about 5 or 6 wheat thins usually. I sometimes eat the 1/4 cup vegetables. We are not allowed Snacks between meals.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
