Favorite Clothing Stores

I'm with vinesqueen. Shopping? I'd rather have a tooth extracted. At least with the tooth extraction, you get fun gas. Now, I look for 26-28 clothes at the goodwill- and don't care what they look like as long as they cover everything. I'm pre-band. When I get to goal, I'm going to make up for lost time and go to a real clothing store where they have new clothes. At that point, I may look for clothes that don't cover everything....hehehehehe

I love shopping Vines!! Nothing makes my day better than finding an outfit O look good in...........even if it is a plus size.

I cannot imaging clothes shopping as a "favorite" anything.

I'm a Goodwill girl! I love finding the bargains! I just bought a pair of Zana Di jeans (size 18 regular- not even plus! YEAH!) for 4.99.

I really like lane Bryant, Target, (WalMarts shorts are the best), and Kohls, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Eddie Bauer most of all!!!!

Wait, let me back up and agree with Vine. I still hate shopping, even after losing 65 pounds. My height added to my weight still makes it next to impossible to find pants. I was starting to squeeze into 18s, but only a few pair fit. The rest vary between 20 and 22. Phooey on shopping. But when we do find that one amazing item that actually fits and flatters, I guess it makes it all worth while.

I know how you feel Vines as I used to be the same way. I had the requisite black stretch pants and black tunics and sweaters that I bought in bulk and that was my daily wardrobe. No makeup, hair short and manageable and usually with the glasses on. But now I have learned to enjoy shopping and it has actually helped with my progression. I spent my life being the fat kid, the fat girl or the fat lady and now at 35, I can appreciate the figure that I have and I enjoy going into a store and putting on a new and trendy outfit, even if it still in the plus sizes, knowing that I can look fabulous in it. It makes me feel better, which in turn, makes me look better. I have found that the more attention I spend on just me, shopping, getting my hair done, buying accessories to match, that other people notice the change in me and comment on it, which makes me feel better about myself.

As an added incentive, when there are good sales, I will buy clothes the next size down so there is something that I can work toward, especially if it is something I really like. It's a little reward for myself. And I can happily say that I am just begiining to raid my closet for the size 18/20 clothes that I bought from Lane Bryant at the end of last winter and I love it!

My husband on the other hand... :)

I'm with ya on the tall pants. I have to buy most of my pants from Roamans or the Avenue because those are the only two places that have anything that fits my body shape (big gut and smaller long legs). Yeah your got it, mushroom LOL.

I don't have a "favorite" place to shop for clothes, I just have no choice but to shop at large size stores.

One day I'll walk into Fredericks and pick out something really nice (((will some one pinch me, I'm starting to dream again))) :)

I too am a fan of Silhouette's but their clothes tend to run a size larger than they really are. However, the clothers are nice. One of my other on-line favorites is Chadwicks.com, and just my size. My all time favorite is no longer in business online. I'm not sure if they even have any stores open either...August Max Woman -they were the full-figured line for Casual Corner, great business and dressy clothing options. But, again they are no longer in business.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
