stuck not losing...............

Recommended Posts

So I lost 23 lbs pretty quickly but now I have gone a full week without losing any weight at all. I also started soft foods this past week but I am writing down everything I eat and sticking to a 1500 calorie or less day diet. I am also drinking Water and exercising. Can I really hit a plateau this early or is it possible that my body is overreacting as I know that I am still not getting all of the needed nutrients. My dr told me not to expect to lose at all between now and my first fill but jeez with eating way less than I used to I thought that I would see some lbs. lost. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Angie

This really is common before our first fill to not have much weight loss or even no weight loss. The key to pushing to have weight loss is getting out and exercising. Rule of thumb is if you exercise 3 times a week for 15 minutes each time you will "Maintain" your weight. But if you want weight loss you have to exercise longer and more often. For me I walk a minimum 6 days a week plus at least for 30 minutes each day. My weight loss has slowed so I know that I need to add something more to my activities to continue the weight loss. So now I will be adding exercise videos to my program.

Don't get discouraged. Keep up making the right food choices and the exercise. The weight will come off as your body continues to adjust to your new life style.

I've found that I will go a week or so then it all cones off at once. this has happened twice so far since the banding. It's not the same weight loss patern I saw before the band so I'm not sure whats going on. For me any calorie intake below 1500 stops all weight loss.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
