I'm at a stand still...

I was banded on 11/24. The liquid diet wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be at first and the weight was FALLING OFF. By 12/2, I was down 16 pounds and was feeling wonderful.

Well, now it's 12/6 and I haven't lost anything in 4 days. I know that I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but I find that it's that much harder not to knowing that I stopped losing.

I do have to admit that I've become fairly lax on the liquid diet. I mean, when I first came home from the hospital, I was drinking 2 protien shakes a day and filling the remaining need of protien by drinking protien Water, but I started having issues with the shakes around the 6th day and cut back to 1 a day and filled the rest with protien water. I am sure that I'm not drinking as much fluids as I should during the day and I've had a little soud during the day since it's been so cold here. Is my weight-loss stall because I'm not as gung-ho as I was in the beginning? I'm looking forward to my 3 week apointment so that I can be released to exercise. I've never wanted to work out so much in my life.

Anyways, I just realized how long this is. Is there someone out there that has losdt weight initially and then it stalled after the first week and a half?

Thanks,

Shanna

I was banded on 11/12 -- I lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks, but none since (now that I'm on a regular diet) - but since it took me 10 months previously to lose 22 lbs, 10 lbs in 2 weeks was awesome to me!!

The last 2 things my doctor said to me before leaving the hospital was "Don't expect to lose weight in this first month" and "You WILL be hungry".

Well, I wasn't hungry for the first 3 weeks, now I really get hungry between meals but still sticking to the rules -- my first fill is next Thursday, so I'm looking forward to that. And I DID lose 10 lbs, so I'm also happy with that! Also, I was just realeased back to full activity this week -- so I've started my workouts again...so hoping that kick starts my weight loss again.

So -- I think if you lost 16 lbs, you are doing great and will probably start losing again once you have a fill and start exercising. Since I'm new at this, I'm guessing....but congrats and good luck!!

You're not expected to lose weight durning your recovery period...its a time for healing. Weight is not just going to drop off now that you have a band..its a lot of work and commitment.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
