painful food sticking

Recommended Posts

Hello. I received a fill 2 days ago (my 4th one) and this has been the "one" that has really restricted my eating. Tonight I had three bites of a turkey sandwich, and shortly afterward, I began to feel very uncomfortable. It has been hours since I ate, and I still feel the tightness in my pouch. When I try to sip Water to help get things moving, I end up spitting it back up. Does anybody know how long this will last? The culprit, I am sure, was the bread, and it feels like it's still stuck. (I won't be eating it again, believe me!)

Sorry bookfan, I can't say how long it will last. The saliva in your esophagus will eventually break the bread down (if you don't PB it up first). Although the sandwich might have irritated your esophagus where it doesn't feel like it's going down. Does that make any sense?

I think we all have gone through those uh-oh moments while we figure out what types of foods our bands can tolerate. Just learn from the experience.

Thanks, plain. Finally, I have some releif! I actually feel sort of "sore" this morning after that painful episode last night. And yes, it was surely a learning experience for me.

P.S. I've learned the hard way (hard head) the need to chew, chew, chew, chew, chew and then chew some more is extremely important.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
