I like going to the gym on sat. I do an hour of Water aerobics and then relax in the jacuzzi and sauna. I leave for florida on friday. I am looking forward to getting away from work and getting some nice sun. I am planning on staying on track down there. Hope we are all doing well. Laurel

Hope you have a great time in Florida Laurel. You deserve it. I am thinking about joining a gym instead of working out at home maybe it will motivate me more at a gym. Where is China hope she is okay. Have a great day.

Thank you Rose. The one problem of a gym membership, you have to get there. I like the variety of things you can do. I do hope China is ok too. I am looking foward to a nice vacation. Have a great day. Laurel

I decided to hold off on another fill. Right now I have good restriction and I do have issues swallowing some items. I thought it might be best to make sure I am really ready for another fill. I don't want to get one and then have to have them take some of the Fluid out. I'll decide at the end of this month if I want another one.

I'm trying the new workout routine to see if that helps.

hey auggie(tamara) long time no hear from. i think i have heard that there is anoter december group on here just in a different part where is it. i might have to go search for it. it takes time. i have a question if you havent lost in a while and havent had a fill since febuary why dont you get one. i have made a few changes to my workout and eating habits and hope that does the trick. keep us posted on how your doing.

I'm definitely interested to see what your doctor says. Both of the people I talk to in my doctor's office said they thought holding off on a fill was a good idea. They said I shouldn't just look at the scale as my victory points. I'll give it another month and if the weight doesn't start coming off, then I'll be asking for another fill. Although I really do need to start journaling again so they can see what I have been eating. Maybe I think I'm eating okay but I'm not????

I have had 3 fills. I thought I had an 8cc band, but from what I was told on the phone, I have a 10cc band. I have had 3 fills and I am at 6cc's. Sometimes I have great restriction while other times I have none. It seems after I excercise especially when I do core work. I am tight. I go for another fill on the 28th. I haven't lost much either. I do need to start logging and measuring my food again. But I will wait until after vacation. I do plan on watching what I eat. Have a great day. Where is China? Laurel

Well I had my fill today and what he did was removed all the Fluid out of my band and while the needle was still in he had me sit up and while he was filing me back up he had me drink while he was filling the band. I am now at 7cc's and am on liquids today and muchys tomorrow. We will see how things go. I sure hope China is ok.

When do you leave for you vacation Laurel.

Auggie you have track your food its really important.

I was banded Dec. 17 and saw this group. I've done well with weight loss up until the past month and it has gotten hard. I'm hungry and crave sweets. Have had a few times when food got stuck so I'm not sure if a fill is necessary or not. Appt. w/doc is Mon., 4/13 and will see then. Getting frustrated and have to tell myself that I have a good weight loss but then have to wonder if I'm just stalled. Hope it will pick back up soon. Messing w/my head:)

It gets harder with every fill. Yesterday after excercising, I got stuck big time. We have to learn to chew, chew, chew small bites before we swallow. We are all in a learning process. Well, I leave for florida in the am. I probably won't be online for a few days. I am bringing a laptop. I hope China is ok? And 60 lbs is an amazing weight loss. I am at 55lbs. Have a great holiday. Wow 60 lbs is wonderful. You should be very happy with that. The doctor told me that it does slow down alittle but if it completely stops you may need a small fill.

Have a great time in Florida Laurel enjoy yourself....you deserve it.

Where are you China I am very worried about you.

i have been having issues to since i got the 2nd fill i had to have 1/2cc taken out then i went back in friday for the other 1/2 to be removed. i still am getting stuck and throwing up so i was wondering if i needed the other .2cc taken out my dr had put 1.2cc in and im still feeling sick. so right now i have 3.2. i must say i dont think im gonna be getting any more fills for a while. sorry to worry you rose im ok. and i know what you are talking about laurel and auggie about it getting harder.

i have to admit to you all that i feel like i have lost some of my motivation as i feel like i should have lost more than i have. but, im gone hang in there and see what happens in the long haul.

Welcome back China......I am so glad that you are alright. I am sorry that you are having so much problems since your fill. I can really feel the restriction since my last fill. I am only eating about half of what I used to eat. Lets see if the weight starts coming off now. I have increased my work out too. Hope everyone has a very happy easter.

Happy Easter everyone and greetings from sunny florida. Spent about 3 hours at the pool today. Got in some excercise in the pool. China so glad to see you. My best advice is chew, chew, chew. I have gotten stuck a few times also. But it was totally my fault. I didn't follow the rules. I am do to go back for a fill on the 27th. I still eat more then I should. I am up to 58lbs lost. My goal is to come home from vacation at least losing a lb. I did have desert the other night. I am trying to be good. Have a great day everyone. Laurel

What a great day this was - my dr appt was at 8:15 this morning & I got my 5th fill. I had been getting hungry 2 hours after a meal and had upped the exercise. Was getting very discouraged. Didn't eat Breakfast since I was anticipating getting the fill not to mention it was so early in the morning. Drank coffee after the fill, had a lean cuisine for lunch & never thought of food this afternoon. No hunger pangs, no growling, ate a salad at 6:30 p.m. and this is great. Now I am wondering "will it last?" I HOPE so!! Definitely the best fill so far and didn't have trouble getting lunch or dinner down. Crossing my fingers that this is the sweet spot. Scheduled to go back in May. Any thoughts? Is it just because I got the fill today or think it could last????

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
