Real restriction...?

Recommended Posts

I got my third fill on Friday July 1st. I'm up to 3 ccs in a 4 cc band.

I've never noticed much of a problem in my prior fills with some issues I'm having now.

I'm burping a lot. A LOT. When I'm hungry I feel sick, my stomach hurts.

I ate something with some pepper (black pepper) on it (I shook a little on) and I got a burning sensation in my stomach. I pureed some chili....way to spicy. Then yesterday I tried having a little spagetti sauce (out of the jar, not homemade and not spicy) and again, the burning sensation. Also, the heat of food, like Soup, seems irritatig. Cold things feel better.

I've had some trouble eating....but I see steady improvement little by little. I can eat a very smooshed up boiled egg with a little mayo and some potted chicken as well as the mushies. I can only eat about a 1/4 cup at a time of anything.

My doc is out of town til tomorrow. I've talked to his coordinator at his office last Thursday and she told me to call her this am to let her know how I'm doing and if I want to come in.

I'm wondering what erosion feels like. Anyone know?

I've lost about 10 lbs in the last week...which feels good, but i'm a little worried about my band.

I soo wish I culd help you out w/advice. I have yet to be filled though. I would think untill the Doctor comes back- try & stick with Protein Shakes that are cool & calming to your newly squeezed stomach. I sure hope your feeling better soon. Please let me know what your Doctor says.

Linda, what you are experieicing sounds just like Gastirtis. I was diagnosed with it, I had an endoscopy and it showed gastritis. Here is a link about Gastirtis, sounds just like it to me. There is a difference between gastritis and GERD

http://www.mayoclinic.com/invoke.cfm?objectid=342EF017-2230-45E3-9B6C9D069CEFA6DE&dsection=2

The burping, the burning, the pain in your stomach

Ask your Dr. to do an endoscopy if you are really worried about your band. He will be able to see what is goin on down there. Also ask him if you could take some Prilosec OTC, it helped me alot.

I was on Nexium and prilosec OTC for 2 months, my esophagus healed , the gastritis is gone.

Im not sure what it is, but I had it after my last fill. i now have 8.2ml in my 10ml band. I have had 7 fills with no real restriction so I wanted to ride it out a bit to see if it stayed or went. I had it for about 2 weeks and it went.

So I dont know what it is or why I had it, but sounds pretty similiar to what you have.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
