New York Lap Band Surgeons that accept Medicaid

Recommended Posts

I was contacted by a gentelman today who's severly obese and is on Medicaid in New York City. He'd really like to get the Lap-band surgery. Does anybody know if Medicaid covers the procedure ? If it does, do you know of any specific surgeons that accept Medicaid ?

Medicaid does cover the band, it's up to the surgeons whether they take that so I can only suggest making some phone calls.

My buddy has made a few calls and the surgeons he's called don't accept Medicaid. If you or anybody else on here knows of any that do, PLEASE let me know.

Dr. Piotr Gorecki at Methodist in Brooklyn, I have Health Plus w/medicaid, and I have to see him in the Surgical clinic. He takes both, but I'm waiting for my approval right now since I am the first patient w/ health plus that he has ever seen.. I should know by this week considering my surgery date was moved from 5/7 to 5/21, and his assistant faxed over 26 pages of notes including 3 doctors letters for my co-morbidities htt://www.Drgorecki.com

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
