Gotta have the coffee!! I put in reg sugar and fat free creamer...I think I have given up enough to be able to enjoy coffee the way I like it. May be a bad attitude, but the weight is still coming off...........

I was told no regular coffee until 3 months out. I have been drinking Decaf (with a little reg. coffee every once in a while as a cheat). I think the decaf is a cheap fake and really want to get back to drinking regular coffee, I have promised I would cut back. Before banding I was drinking a pot a day, columbian dark. My mouth still waters just thinking about it. I am hoping at my July appt. he will let me have my coffee again.

No problem with coffee! Gotta have it. However, when I was first banded, I sipped coffee on days 2-3, then added V-8 on day 4 and, I believe, all of that was too acidic. I began having trouble with reflux, PB's, swelling and got myself into a big mess early on with being too restricted due to swelling. If I could go back, I would lay off the coffee for at least a few weeks, if possible. Or I would keep the coffee and drop the V-8. Just be careful in the beginning and listen to your body. Otherwise, look forward to a happy life WITH coffee after banding. :)

coffee is actually REALLY hard on the ol' tummy....VERY acidic. I gave it up a while ago and am surprised that doctors are saying it's okay. It's really hard on the tum plus caffeine.

I was told coffee is fine as long as you had no acid problems prior to banding. If you had reflux leading up to banding, you should avoid coffee.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
