Congratulations to everyone!! October is only 3 Days Away!!!! :tt1: I just finished all my pre-op work yesterday so now all I have to do is wait for the 7th. Actually the 6th when I call to find out what time my surgery is scheduled. For the first time I wish I had a latex allergy because they get to go first! I just hope that I am early in the day! This is so exciting, it's sounds weird to say that I am excited for surgery but it does feel like the beginning of a whole new life! And I am only one pound away from my pre-surgery weight loss of 50 lbs! So I have 10 days to loss that one stinking pound! :bolt:

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! KEEP US ALL POSTED AS THE SMASHING PUMPKINS BEGIN THEIR JOURNEY AS "FAT LOSERS!"

So what happens to this thread as of Wednesday? Some of us (not me) will be "on the other side." How exciting is that!

Day 2 on the pre-op diet here. Man alive am I hungry! Someone who has been on theirs for a while tell me the cravings and rumbling tummy will get better - lie if you have to.

I'm holding off eating today as much as possible. I'm supposed to go out with family tonight and am hoarding all of my Proteins and veggies for then. I probably should have said no, but I want to feel normal, and normal for me is Saturday football with my family.

Karen--maybe we can start a Smashing pumpkin POST OP thread to encourage each other as we all start our journey...also we could do the IM chats if we plan a time to all get on there..that would be cool. I notice some of us are online at the same times.

Today is my first pre-op diet day although I have been doing a low carb high Protein diet for a few weeks now this is my "official" start day.

KarenK .. the rumblings will go away ... Craving prob not.. I am almost done with mine and I gotta tell you I still crave some stuff, but I find things I can have like pickles or fat free sugar free Jello and I have those instead and then I usually try to do something to take my mine away from food.. It is crazy but eventually they will go away and we will start craving the good stuff just like we crave the bad stuff now.. Eventually we will be looking for the nearest salad not the nearest drive thru

I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF US.... :frown:

Even though my surgery is on Wednesday I will still stop by here to give encouragement to everyone still awaiting their October day, but I do like the Idea of starting a Smashing Pumpkins Post op thread Renita.. we should totally do that :)

I hope everyone has a safe and fun pre op diet weekend :)

Hello, my Lap Band Date is October 3rd!! I am super excited!!

Well.... and a bit worried, I read some post where people were on a 2 week liquid diet for their pre op diet.

My Doctor gave me a pre-op diet to follow....

Meal 1 - 1 serving of 2 of the following: yogurt, fruit, eggs, Cereal, toast, bagle, waffle, muffin (i.e., 1 serving of yogurt & 1 egg or an apple and yogurt)

Meal 2 - 1 serving of an approved Protein drink

Meal 3 - 1 serving (4-6 ounces) of any type of lean meat or fish (chicken, pork, turkey, beef)

and 1 serving of a green vegetable (lettuce, peas, broccoli, green Beans, spinach, etc)

Meal 4 - 1 serving of an approved Protein drink

Lots and Lots of Water.

Has anyone else seen this diet plan? I also read another post where they had to prospone the surgery for a later date due to a fatty liver  I would hate it if I had to have my surgery again. Sorry my post is so long, I just don't want to do anything wrong.

Purplerose... Congrats on your surgery date... I would totally recommend following what your doctor says...

If I was you I might modify the diet a bit and cut out the carbs.. the biggest problem on the preop diet are carbs...

My doctor just has us on 2 Protein Drinks a day and on no carb meal... we are allowed a 3rd Protein Drink if we think we need it... But if you are concerned ask him about your concerns and tell him you are worried.. They always want you to ask questions..

but more importantly remember the doctors are the professionals they have set up their meal plans for a reason  I wish you success and the the quickest healthy recovery :frown:

Thank You very much Meschultz for your advise! I guess I just worry to much, and I didn't realize till now that each doctor has such a diffrent plan to follow.

WooHoo! I cannot believe my surgery is only 6 days and a wake-up away!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
