First Fill

Recommended Posts

My first fill is scheduled for 9/5!! I am excited!! The nurse did warn me that most people gain weight the last 2 weeks before the first fill. That means my fill will be done 4 weeks and 2 days after my surgery!!

Congrats!! That really exciting news. Some people have to wait six weeks.

My doctor just told me he will do my first fill four weeks post op but I cannot schedule it until after I see him one week post surgery.

My first will be on 8/29 and I am so looking forward to it. After being off liquids my appetite has come back with full force:drool: and I am trying hard to make good choices and to watch my portions.

Ro is right (you've got a fantastic memory, matey!) my first fill is the 5th of Sept. I am still eating less than I used to to get full - about 1 cup of food per meal. But I'm not losing any weight (or if I am, it's very slow now) so until my first fill, my main goal is not to gain any weight.

Hey all! I'm back from TX, gosh it's hot:) I have hit the weight loss wall too. I have lost two lbs since the week after surgery, but my clothes are fitting much differently. My doc makes us wait 6 weeks. I am just trying to pre-measure the food so I don't cheat. THe trip was tough...the food was preplanned, but I never knew what it was until they put it on the table. Day one was chicken and steak tips with corn on the cob...uggh! I did not take a plate and 4 waiters tried to put one down. I sipped on Water and then mixed a shake after. I also bumped into a dear friend who is having this done too, so we got a chance to chat! Thankfully I brought a ton of shake powder with me. I'm looking forward to reading through the new posts and getting caught up with everyone. Moe

I'm actually able to eat everything right now - steak, rice, anything. So far nothing's gotten stuck, so I'm assuming I'm going to need a fill or else everything is going through.

Last night I had chicken nuggets because I worked late and it was all the canteen had left, and they didn't even make me feel full, they were so processed. So until my fill, I need to be extra careful about what I eat.

I thought about trying to cut the meat/chicken up into small bits and try it, but was afraid to being so far away from my surgeon. I'm on regular foods next week:) WHOO HOO! I still do quite a few shakes though, they are super easy at work.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
