Hi, I was banded on July 3, 2008, and had my first fill yesterday (8/5/08). My surgeon is Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, Colorado. Surgery went well, my stomach was a little touchy for a few days, but all is back to normal now. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future.

What was the whole process from start to finish. I have a consultation with Dr. K on next month. What was your starting weight and height. How long from you initial consult till surgery? I would love to hear from your experience. So very interested in speaking with you especially since you were just banded. :w00t:

The whole process was quite easy.

I am 5 feet, on a good day, and weight started at 197. I have currently lost 10 lbs.

The day of my consultation (mid May) I scheduled my surgery date, Marilyn had told me it would be a ways out, then suggested the first week in June, but I was unable to schedule that soon, so I chose July 3rd. I was also given an appointment for pre-op for about 3 days before surgery. I was contacted by Paula the nutritionist for a consultation with her which was held by phone, very convenient. Dr. K has two locations for surgery, one at Parker Adventist (closest for me) and another (not sure what center). I had post-op appointment a week later, and my first fill about 5 weeks later, with the second scheduled in another month. Dr. K is great, he is so laid back, very informative, and doesn't pressure you on anything. I was more nervous going in for the first fill than the actual surgery. Don't know why, it was a piece of cake.

Good luck, let me know how it goes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
