Anyone getting banded in AUGUST

:biggrin2: Hi, I had my first consult today and getting banded 26th August. I am so excited and so nervous. I am having my surgery in Greenslopes (Brisbane).

Just wondering if anyone else is getting banded in August as we will be around the same stage all the way through our journeys so we can keep in touch with each other.

Hi Everyone and thank you for all the support. I am now 2 days post op. I have very bad reflux, and all of day 1, I couldn't stop vomiting. Thant is all behind me now and I have started on the soups and sustigen:thumbdown:, better than optifast I suppose. Anybody have any suggestions for the reflux, I have tried infacol and that is not working. :crying:

You really need to get incontact with your surgeon, because there is medication that will help reduce the hydrochloric acid, that is causing your reflux, you dont need to suffer with this, the quicker it is sorted out the better you will feel.

oh no, danafreda, what are you allowed eat at the moment? Hopefully once you get your fill you wont be hungry anymore.

How did your surgery go? Did you stay overnight? Are you feeling all recovered now?

Hi Everyone, I am feeli8ng a lot better now thanks. It is now day 7 post surgery and I am a little over the fluid diet. I am trying to think of different things to eat. I am only allowed to have things I can suck up a straw and no lumps. I will be going to the mushies on Thursday so I can't wait. I don't get my first fill till September i month after surgery. Thanks for all the support and I weigh in tomorrow night so I will let you all know how I go as I don't have scales at home.:mad2:

I start my clear fluid diet all day tomorrow fro surgery on Tuesday. I am getting so nervous. I am wondering how I can keep it a secret if people are over for dinner or we are out and I can hardly eat anything. I am worried about vomiting or having problems. I think its all party of the pre surgery nerves.

Tess how are you getting on?

After my op, I asked my husband to hide the food I couldn't eat. He would put it on his plate so i kept my op a secret.

Thats a great idea. I will definitely do that!!! Lucky hubbie, he'll be eating for two hahaha.

I am SO nervous now. I am having my lap band tomorrow. I'm on clear fluids all day today and fasting from midnight. I have butterflys in my tummy, so nervous.

I guess next time I speak to you I will have my band in.

Good luck Mumof2. I felt the same the day before surgery, i nearly pulled out, now its been 6 months and I have lost just under 40 kilos. I have had a few problems, mainly with reflux and over restricted, but i would not change a thing, it is the best thing I have done.

Good luck, i will be thinking of you :(

Good Luck Michelle, You won't need it though :)

I purchsed my first pair of size 18 jeans from the normal section on thw weekend. i used to squeeze into a size 24. That made everything that I have gone through well worth it.
