OB suggested weight gain ...

Recommended Posts

ok ... i still had a minimum of 50 pounds to lose to even be at a weight i can live with...

my first appointment, my OB suggested i maintain while pregnant... at first i seriously thought no problem!!

but now that the morning/all day sickness has pretty much subsided, i'm famished all.the.time.... and i've gained about 3-4 pounds... i can just imagine her freaking out on me my next appointment (next Monday) cause i gained... i know i'm not supposed to 'diet' while PG, but there's the mentality there that almost makes me want to...

It's a really confusing thing for us who have struggled to lose weight most of our life! I've been so sick that I haven't started gaining yet, but my midwife is concerned that I am losing too much. Believe me I'm not dieting AT ALL!!! We've already had the talk about how it is probably going to be difficult for me to watch the scale go up. It's true. I know that I will eventually start gaining but I'm still wrapping my head around the idea of being happy about the scale going up instead of down.

First off, Congratulations!

Second, I doubt that your OB will be mad if you gained a few pounds. Some lose a few pounds due to morning sickness while others gain weight the moment they pee on the stick; its all okay.

As hard as it may be, you will have to temporarily stop the "diet-mindedness" and think of it as eating healthy. You can still give in to your cravings, just do it in a healthy way. I would probably get rid of the scale too, if the few pounds is causing you to want to go into diet mode.

I have a sweet tooth and I was fortunate to go thru my first 2 trimesters during Spring/Summer so I was able to curb my sweet tooth with lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. Watermelon became my go-to food during this time.

Enjoy the time you are pregnant. It truly is a blessing. Bond with your baby, not the scale.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
