Itchy red bumps around incision area?

Recommended Posts

I just took off my bandages to changes them and I have some itchy red bumps. The incisions themselves do not look bad, but I'm just wondering what this is?

Could be a heat rash from the bandages them selves. I had a BAD one it looked bad. But you might want to call your doc. Could also be an allergic reaction to the tap or sticky stuff on the bandages.

I have these all over my sides and stomach. I figured they were a reaction to the iodine they used during surgery. I have my week checkup tomorrow so I will ask my doctor then and let you know what she says.

My guess is that it is a combination of the southern summer heat and the bandages. When did your doc say it is OK for you to remove the bandages?

Not sure if you were stitched or glued but I was glued and was told to remove my bandages within a week and just leave the steri-strips in place until they fall off.

hi, i have tiny red itchy bumps around 3 of my incisions. i had the dermglue - no bandages. the dr. has checked them out and told me they are just a localized reaction to the dermaglue and that it would go away. she said to take benedryl if they were really bothering me a lot but they don't bother me that bad so i've haven't taken anything for it so far.

I am really sensitive to adhiesive. Could it be from the bandages or tape they used? I use a little bit of cortazone and that seems to clear them up in a few days. I get them even after having a bandaid applied when i go in for a fill:(

Hope this helps

Yep. I'll bet it's the adhesive from the bandages and/or tape. I am also extremely sensitive to any type of adhesive. I buy latex free bandaids and I still get the itchy red bumps. I really have to have a big boo boo to wear a bandaid for any amount of time. Most of the time the reaction from the adhesive turns out to be worse than the original ouchie!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
