Port on the Right hand side????

Recommended Posts

My port is about 3 inches above my waist and then 3 inches to the left. My fill doctor (he did not do the surgery) was surprised, he'd never seen a port on the left side! But from what I have seen, a lot of people have theirs on the left side. :o

My port is anchored just under the sternum in the middle of my chest. So far it's only interfered with one bra (which was getting a little big anyway!:o

Mine's on the right, just a peck below my ribcage. I can't compare it to having it anywhere else, but I like that I never bump stuff against it or notice it unless I'm looking for it. I like the location.

Mine is directily above my belly button and is deep. I can only feel it when I am lying down. I am happy with the placement because when I lose more weight it will not stick out. I have seen some who's stick out like a horn.

All of the literature I have seen mentions the LEFT side. I am a bit surprised by the folks who have it on the right. To those of you who have had your port installed on the right hand side - is that also the side of your biggest lapband incision? I would think they would put the port near the largest incision (as was done with mine)...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
