I thought it might be FUN to ask you all what the rudest comment you have had is and how you responded!

I'll get it started: Last weekend, I went for my hair appointment. I had not been for 9 or 10 weeks. When she saw me, she said, "You've lost a lot of weight...did you have gastric bypass?" I couldn't believe she would ask such a personal question...people sure are bold! I simply replied, "Nope, I didn't." And that was the truth! :redface:

yes, that would cause me to strangle someone, because everyone thinks you get surgery and it is some miracle, when they don't realize that you have to actually WORK at it to make the surgery work for you. Idiots...

I was working out in the gym last week and I heard two body builders next to me make a joke about fat people working out. I heard them yell "Cow" out and it didn't really hit me until later in the week. I was incredulous that they would actually laugh about that while right next to me. I guess I've got to develop a thick skin but I shouldn't have to. I pay alot of money to work out there just like they do... only I pay more for a trainer.

@ Mikissa - if anything like that happens again report the morons to management!

I worked with a lady, who made a comment, saying I looked like the actress/comedian Mo'Nique. This comment was made BEFORE Mo'Nique lost a lot of weight.

What made it worse is the lady thought it was a good compliment. She said she liked the way Mo'Nique dresses, but I wanted to ask "Why didn't you say I look like Halle Berry or Angela Basset? Why Mo'Nique?" I was nice and smiled and just said Thank you. She is really a nice lady and she wasn't trying to be hurtful, but I was crying inside....

Mine was my senior year of high school when I wasn't really that heavy! Silly awards are always given to seniors by the junior class where I went to school and I was given the "Pothole Award" because I had enough fat to fill all the potholes in the parking lot!! I will never forget that!

I've been looking at all of the comments, in this thread, and I keep thinking "What the hell!!!!"

Why is it ok to make fun of and be so rude to someone who is overweight? It's not acceptable to make fun of someone's race, gender or sexual orientation, but it's a free for all when it comes to weight. I get so sick of this!!!! A lot of this could be stopped if people started at home and taught their children to be less judgemental. Neither of my children is overweight, but they have been taught to never make fun or make a rude comment about someone else's weight.....or about anything else!! I've always taught them that making fun of others is mean and hateful.

My manager at work (jokingly) told me I was going to die on the operating table. Wasn't a very good joke..I was terrified. She"s also called me a cheater.

WTF!!!! That IS NOT a joke! Why would she say that?! Would she have said that if you were getting any other kind of surgery?? I would have said something smart and probably gotten into trouble.

Yea well we were friends at one point then we kinda became frenemies because of other instances with a joking attitude like that. She didn't think I should get it so that's where that comment came from. I think I probably did make a rude comment back..bc I couldn't have gotten in trouble..its a laxed atmosphere and noone gets in trouble..plus wat could she have done..that comment could have gotten her in trouble big time..she's lucky I didn't report it . Damn it..I wish I would have. Coulda shoulda woulda

I am friends with my boss, but I guess I'm lucky because we have the same sense of humor and she would not say something like that to me. She's thin, but she has been supportive and just asked questions. She just wants me to be careful since this is surgery, but she has never made me feel bad about my choice.

If your boss continues to speak to you like that, you can report her for that mess. I would talk to her first and let her know she IS NOT funny and then see what her reaction is. Then I would report her if her reaction is as bitchy as her comments.

I jokingly suggested my coworker name his daugheter "Sarah" - he said "That's a pretty good name for a fat chick!" He and I have a pretty good relationship - so I wasn't too offended. But, it was a pretty damn mean thing to say!!!

My mother has always been mean and demeaning...I was having a backyard BBQ and we had a priest friend over and he said to myself and my husband "do you always entertain like this" my mother jumped in and said "LOOK AT HER this is ALL they do EAT" I looked at her and said "DO YOU OWN A MIRROR" she is much larger than I was!! Subject was changed! Bitch!

Well, I was walking with my friend down a fairly busy road. A group of teenage boys drove by and one screamed "FAT ASS" out of the window. I acted like I didn't care and kinda shrugged it off in front of my friend, but when I went home I cried for about 3 hours. :thumbup: Still hurts my feelings when I think about it. Why do people feel the need to humiliate others? If they really knew how much it hurt, do you think they would still do it?

PS, I hate when you are out to eat and the waiter or waitress asks you if you'd like desert, and you respond "no." They come back at you with a "Are you suuuuure??" Like, I know you want it because you are such a fattie. JERKS!!
