Stay away from the band!!

Recommended Posts

I am 19 months post op. It hurts like heck I paid cash for my surgery with absolutely no support from the drs. I paid for an american surgery instead of going to mexico I want it removed they are not even telling me if they will and how much more they are going to charge for it. Does anyone know where I can get this done? I would prefer to go to mexico as I have already spent more money than I should have. I am down 13lbs in 19 months 325 to 312 as of this morning Please help if I can keep one person from making the mistake I made please let me know I will gladly give you all details. If you must do it at least go to mexico and save 10 grand.

A little more information would be helpful. What kind of diet do you follow? Do you exercise? Have you had any fills? The band on its own won't make you lose any weight. You have to work at it, just like a 'diet'. Just curious to get some more info from you about why you dislike it so much.

Sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the band. I am on the other side of the spectrum as I am very happy with what the band has done for me. Let us know a few more details and maybe we can help you get through this bad patch and onto better times.

so so sorry it isnt working for you!:frown:i get my very first fill next tuesday & just one month out i've lost 25lbs without much restriction--perhaps your dr should be consulted, or at least your nutritionist. good luck for the future BUT before you get your band removed maybe you should give it one more try with a fill & a modified eating plan?:rolleyes2: we can all be success stories!!!

I am sorry to hear that you're having issues with the band. I think to be successful you need to follow a diet more closely of Protein, get you Water, exercise. Unless there is an issue with the band such as an over fill, slippage, corosion etc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
