Were Moving!

Recommended Posts

Paula you gotta go for it......................now. Don't wait until they are older because it gets harder. I have a 14 year old and a 16 year old and have the opportunity to purchase 5 acres in the country in a secluded community with 3 lakes, Zebras, Elk and Axis deer. You would think any kid would jump on this but NO! Not mine. They don't want to change high schools and want to graduate from the one they are at now. Now in the past I would have ignored their feelings and assumed they would adjust just like when they were younger. But I have a feeling this time that the move would be a failure. Do it while they are young.

Paula, children are resilent and yours are still young. They will make friends and adjust better then you think. My personal opinion is that if you have to move or want to move ..it is better to do it when the chilldren are younger, it would be much harder on them if they were teenagers in middle school or high school. You have to do what is best for your family at this time, they may not understand now but in the long run they will.

Thanks everyone for all this wonderful insight! I am truly grateful that I have all of you :)

I agree - this really is a good thing. But I still have to keep reminding myself.... ***No Mortgage***

Yep, no brainer. I would LOVE to not have a mortgage. Make that 2 mortgages.

Kids are resilient. They will do fine. I would just focus on the positives like making new friends, having new adventures, if you moving to another state maybe the seasons, etc etc. Tell them it is time for a whole new start!!!

Jenna, we are moving exactly 1 mile east. Thats it. And the weird thing is that the first home we owned is on the next street over. So not only is this neighborhood "Meme & Pop's " neighbors that have seen my kids since birth, but its also the neighborhood my oldest child spent his first 7 years in.

This all seems like a no-brainer, but there are a lot of pro's and con's to this... the house we currently live in (but in the process of selling) is in a very quiet, older/retired, beautiful, very safe neighborhood and its located on a dead end. So there is very little traffic, NO crime, perfect place for anyone, but mostly small children.

Now, mom & dad's old house is not this way. The street is MUCH busier, and crime is definately an issue. The home is older and so are the other houses, which means neighborhood isnt nearly as nice...

anyway, like i said, there are 2 side to this. So I keep remembering the no mortgage thing and trying to stay upbeat for the kids.

Thanks again

OK - so I guess we wont be moving out so fast!

We just got a phone call from the people buying our house - they are backing out! What disappointment!

We are trying to sell it ourselves, so the "For Sale" sign is already back out.

Besides all of this aggravation, my 9 yr old came home from school Friday with a stomach bug... then Saturday night I came down with it.

Life, huh?

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this Paula! I will start praying for you again that the right couple/person will come along to buy from you.

I'll also pray for your family about that bug again. Hopefully it'll go away soon.

Keep your chin up sweets. Things will all work out just the way they should.

Lots of Love, ~Kelly

Awwww Paula, sorry to hear that, the same thing happened to us when we sold ours, but it worked out really good because the next people paid us more for it. Hopefully you will have another offer soon! Good Luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
