I was just wondering if there is anyone who can not feel their port? I was just banded 4-25 and I can not feel mine and have been told that is normal.

I was banded 4/8 and thought my port was underneath the port incision, which didn't really make sense becasue, how could it heal with a port there, right? But the area was hard and tender so I just left it alone. Then one day, I found it! Dunno how or why, really, just started pressing around and viola! there it is...not beneath my port incision, but "SouthEast" of it, about 2 inches, very near my waist band on the left side of me. WOW! It's hard and round and smooth, under my skin there. I couldn't feel mine at first either but yours will most certainly make an appearance. It's wierd, but no biggie.

Dr. burried mine pretty deep, can't feel it and he can't do a fill without flouro. He said as I lose weight it would start to show itself! Mine also is not by my port incission (thought it would be) It is to the right of it about 2". At least that is where the needle prick is after a fill. :)

Jenna, I'm SO happy you said that. I was getting worried! I have the bulge too. I'm sure the rest of the world can't see it unless they look REAL close, and my tee-shirt or shell is tight, but still, it bothers me.

I have the bulge right were my port incision is located. It is hard too. My husband's feels the same way. Does that bulge and hard knot go away or is that the port? I am soooooo confused:confused:

That bulge goes away, and you are left with scar tissue just around the incisions. The port will appear like magic about 2 inches away. Mine is below and left (south east) of the port incision. Yours will appear, but it isn't beneath the incision or the incision wouldn't heal. Wait until the area isn't so tender and swollen, and you can start gently pressing around for it.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong.

My port has become more noticeable with weightloss. Yours will probably too depending on where it is located

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
