Hey ya'll. I am a new bander as of June 2. I have enjoyed reading all your posts and wanted to join in. Forgive me if I don't know all the shorthand yet. Please let me know if I mess up.

Hey Waddy I live in Alabama too. Welcome and who did your surgery and how are you doing? I am getting banded this Tuesday the 17th by Dr. Groves in Albertville.

Well, my goodness! I'm in Alabama, too, and have been around here for some time. We have our own Alabama group, you know Alabama Local Lap-Band Support - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum and we have quite a few active folks there. I'm newly banded and doing great. Stick around this 50's group and you will learn so much from all these experienced bandsters. They are truly inspirational. Good luck to all of you!

Hi Diane and welcome! I am also over 50 (though my age isn't posted). Thank you for the link. I have been reading this site (LapBandTalk) a lot and there is also a thread with just those from Alabama and a thread for those over 50 so you might stumble across those in your exploration of this site.

Thanks for the welcome. I my surgery was on June 2nd. Since I live in a rural area of Alabama I had to go to Chattanooga for surgery. My surgeon's name is Walter Rose. He was very nice and I had no complications. The only ongoing problem I seem to be having is Constipation. Any suggestions?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
