Recommended Posts

Hi, there Holliday

How did you HOT PINK shoes work out for ya? I am going to treat myself to a new outfit tomorrow. I am going to a grad party this weekend and want to get some new capri pants and a cute summer shirt. I am loving the mushies and really just doing great all around. I am still hot hungry and keeping up the energy, so no complaints on my end. Hope all is as well for you too.

Globall, we are ready to hear how you are, hope you are feeling better each day.

Talk to the rest of you when you get time.

Keep up the good work all you Hoosier Bandsters.

Just weighed in and I am still at 16 lb lost after introducing munchies back to the diet. The doc said to expect a gain after being on all liquids for two weeks.

Yea, I am soooooo happy to be holding my own thus far.

Good luck to all the rest of you here in Indiana.

B-Girl08, Thanks for answering my message. I have a couple of friends that havwe had the surgery in louisville, but it was a bit farther for me to go, so I chose Evansville. It is still an hour and half drive for me, about the same as Louisville, but the traffic is not so crazy. I just had the upper GI ? yesterday and go back to the dr on the 11th. Should give me a date. Congrats on your band and on the weight loss so far. I have learned more from this site in the last 2 days than I have in the last 4 months. I think maybe once I am approved by my insurance and it is definite that I will be having the band that the weight loss center will focus more on what I need to do. I have been to the meetings with the nutritionist and I get all the information on what I should eat and the correct portions and so on. I allready know all that, but it has not helped me in the past or I would not be where I am at today. Don't get me wrong, I realize that a certain amount of my success will depend on me doing my part, but if I could follow that kind of diet I would not need the surgery. And I guess that what I want to know is this going to be as hard as trying to lose the weight on my own by trying to follow a diet that I know I can't stick with? Hope you can answer some of these questions for me. Maybe I am just getting nervous because I know I am at the countdown to surgery.

Hi, Jen

I am one month out tomorrow, and I can say I feel great. I am eating reg. foods now, just a whole lot less. I have not even had a major craving for anything. I pretty much gave up bread, just scared to try it, I don't want to be in pain if it gets stuck or something. I eat out just like before, but not near the amount that I used to. I am down 17 lbs as of today and the inches are really starting to show. I went from at size 26w 28w in pants and now am in a 22w 24w. I take a prenatal vitamen everyday and still drink a Protein Shake about every other day. I am going to start working out this week, so real happy about that. I am planning on staring out with walking and swimming, then plan to move up to strenght training and Water aerobics. I have been lucky and not struggling with mind hunger so far, but I am sure it will come in its boughts. I am trusting in myself and God to help me throught it all. Best of luck to you and please feel free to keep me updated and ask any questions that you need to. I will help in any way I can.

Hi, Jen and Fam

I forgot to tell you all that I was heading to Florida for nine days, so I am sorry I hadn't done that. Anyway glad you two Evansville bandster to be found each other, that will be great if you have close support. I had my surgery in Louisville at Norton's Hospital. Dr. Jeffery Allen out of Louisville Surgical Group is who my surgoen is and my support group meets every second tueday of the month. I am 100 % happy with everything thus far, they are busy as all get out in this office, but have a great support team and staff. I go in on the 26th for my second visit with Dr. Allen, don't know if I am going to get a fill or what? guess we will see what he says. I am down twenty pounds in seven weeks, so I have no complaints about that and I am back to working out and I know that will make a huge change in the weight loss and toning up. Good luck and keep me posted.

Be a great day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
