  1. Hi, Global sounds like you are doing well, I go next week for another appointment, I have had one fill thus far. My high was 312 and I am down to 272, so no complaints. I do need to get myself to the Y to work out though. I am slipping into the loose skin zone and hating it. Keep up the good work.
  2. Hello, is Louisville, Ky to far for you, they have two meetings on different days? One in downtown on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 and one on the fourth Thursday of every month at Nortion Suburban hospital. They are also now offering group at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, In, but not sure if it open to everyone or to their patients only? Good luck
  3. Hi, Teckla Sorry to hear about the port problems, I have not had a fill yet, I hope I don't have any problems. I have been scared about this part of the process anyway. Whis me luck and keep up the good work!!! Way to go! Hey there, JW Once a Hoosier always a Hoosier, in my eye's. Hope those TN folks are treating you ok... Where is your Mom thinking of having her surgey done? Be sure to turn her onto our message board if she would like some support. As I am sure you already know how great everyone is on here. Take care and drop us a line, Banded: May 5th, 2008 31 Lbs. Down and down two sizes!!! Yeah!!
  4. Hello again Ky, Bandchick, you rock! I need your brain to help my brain out!!! lol lol I am in the same boat at "BUSY". I have not a had a fill yet and I am letting my mind take over as far as night snacking goes. I had an oreo fix last week and have just been lacking in the staying strong department. I have a membership to the YMCA and don't go? I let other things take priority and need to get back on track. Thank you for posting such an encouraging and informative post. Keep up the good work and please send some of your brain power and prayer power my way???!!!
  5. Hey Nanny, great job!, I hope to be that far in my goal in one year too. You are absolutly right about it being a hard job and that is is all about reatraining our minds. I had my surgery on May 5th and I am still not feeling hungry per say, but my mind still wants me to night snack and I am having a hard time with it. I know that I can do better and will propably do a little better once I get my first fill. Anyway just wanted to say great job to ya! Way to go Global, I saw your ticker and it looks like you are doing very well already. Keep up the good work. Come on Indiana, we can do this, we are worth it!!!
  6. Good to hear from ya, YOU are doing so well with your loss. I have got to get my mindset in check with the working out. I love to workout, I just keep letting other things use up my time. I need to pray on it and remember to put myself first for awhile. It is so hard to do with a three year old who requires alot of time and attention. Well, anyway it was good to hear from you and just want to say keep up the good work.
  7. Hey Allison, Just stopping in to share my thought about your sitiuation with your guy. Try to remember, If you choose to park a "pinto" or some other "small" car in your driveway, then the "Hummer" or some other "BIG" car cannot fit in your driveway. Just a thought for you to grow on. I drove a pinto for seven years and got now where. I had "Him" towed away and now I have the best Hummer in town. He treats me like I deserve to be treated and loves me for me. Good luck and remeber you deserve a "HUMMER" too!
  8. hi, Cindymom glad everything worked out for you. I am happy to report that all is good with me so far. I met with Dr. Allen last week in my seveth week and he was happy with my progress thus far. I am down 31 and ready to get my hiney in gear to keep things going steady. Have a great 4th and keep my posted on how you are doing when you have time. Over and out from the bandedgirl08 Hello to everyone else on here too!!!! Good luck to you all. Be the fabulous person that you already know you are!
  9. Hi, Everyone It's me, Bandedgirl08 dropping in to say "The Band Is A GOOD Thing". I too was banded by Dr. Allen and I am going into my 8th week and feeling good about it. I am going slow and easy and hopefully steady. I am down 31 total since pre opt diet to now. I think I have seen and heard more positives than negatives and I am here to say I would recomend Lapband to anyone who needs a tool to help with getting weight under control. Take care and hope you all have a fun and safe Independence Day. Remember to thank a solder for our freedom.
  10. Hello Cindy, famrika, Jen and anyone else out there. I went for my second check up on the 26th and Dr. Allen is very pleased. We decided that I should wait for a fill, due to the steady loss. I am down 18 since the band and I am in my 7th week. I am ready getting back into exercise and drinking more water, so this should help to keep me on a losing track. I hope anyway. I am still doing fine, no complaints, just need to make some better food choices now that I can eat anything I want to. I am still staying away from thick meats and bread. Well, I hope everyone else is doing ok and I'll be in touch.
  11. Hi, Cindy I am from Jeffersonville, across the bridge from Louisville, Ky. Glad to have an fellow bandster to talk with. Drop me a line sometime. Be a great day!
  12. Hi, Jen and Fam I forgot to tell you all that I was heading to Florida for nine days, so I am sorry I hadn't done that. Anyway glad you two Evansville bandster to be found each other, that will be great if you have close support. I had my surgery in Louisville at Norton's Hospital. Dr. Jeffery Allen out of Louisville Surgical Group is who my surgoen is and my support group meets every second tueday of the month. I am 100 % happy with everything thus far, they are busy as all get out in this office, but have a great support team and staff. I go in on the 26th for my second visit with Dr. Allen, don't know if I am going to get a fill or what? guess we will see what he says. I am down twenty pounds in seven weeks, so I have no complaints about that and I am back to working out and I know that will make a huge change in the weight loss and toning up. Good luck and keep me posted. Be a great day!
  13. Hi, Everyone Glad to hear mostly positive post for us May folks. I am seven weeks out and eating pretty much anything I want except bread. I just have not missed it, so figure I'll stay away from it. I have felt like night snacking this week, so I need to get that out of my head real quick. I started swimming last week and started doing cardio this week and feel great about that. I am down twenty pounds since being banded on may 5th and am happy with that. I am mostly happy that I have it so easy, no complications what so ever. My biggest challenge is getting my mind wrapped around not drinking the required 1/2 hour before, during and 1/2 hour after meals. I am praying for strength in this area and know that I can work my way up to it. Just got back from a trip to Florida for nine days and all went great. I enjoyed swimming everyday and it felt good to visit with friends and family. Let's all be as great as we know we already are. Bandedgirl08 Banded May 5, 2008 Dr. Jeff Allen, Louisville, Ky.
  14. Hello KY, I am in Jeffersonville, In just across the bridge and had my band done in Louisville at Norton's. Dr. Allen is my surgeon. So far no complaints. They are supper busy that is for sure. My band date was May 5th, so today is my one month anniversary and I am down 17 pounds. Yea.... for me, I have never lost that kind of weight in one month. I am on regular foods but taking it slow. I have not been hungry yet and pray to God everyday for guidence. Best of luck to all of you neighbors, just wanted to stop in say hello. My name is Nicci and I attend the second tueday support group meetings at the Nortion's Pavillion. Anyone on here go there too? Have a great day and be the marvelous people that you know you are.
  15. Go on an all liqids diet. Eat soup and broth and drink low sugar drinks and skim milk. You will shed that 10 pounds for sure. May want to go ahead and start on protein shakes too, they keep the hunger pangs away. Good luck!
