Can I still have surgery if it's that time of the month?

I have my surgery date and in my excitment didn't realize till today that there is a good posibility that it will be that time of the month around my surgery date. Does anyone know if they will cancel or reschedual the surgery? Everyone is gone for the weekend at the doctors office and it is driving me crazy to know.

Thanks, you all are the best!

I had my surgery at that time. I had to get up through out the night to change, but I think that it helped my recovery. The nurses said I did really well.

It was "that time" for me as well. The docs didn't care! I agree that the getting up probably helped with recovery! Good Luck!

Same here! I was on my period during my surgery and I told the nurse but she said it didn't matter. I had on a tampon. She said the surgery would last at the most 1 hour and 30 min assuming there were no complications. He was done in about 65 mins. Don't worry:) Everything will be fine.

Best wishes to you and yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, another one here, I had mine when I had my surgery and there was no problem with it at all.

Wow, thank you all so much!!!!! I feel so much better now, I don't know what I would do without you all and I hope I don't have to find out.

Thanks again!

Imagine how i feel right about now..mine started on Thursday, and u know how u get not just moody but i truly would love to have a hershey bar.. but i know that isn't going to happen so i just bought me some pepermints... wow.. pepermints..yum....

i was supposed to get my period the week before my surgery. each day passed and it never came. i was so worried to wake up the day of my surgery and have it but *knock on wood* it waited until the next day when i was at home.

the nurse did ask me before my surgery if i was having my period and if i had a tampon in. just be honest... they see it all the time!
