My "adult" son decided to pal around with me on Saturday. We went to cut his hair, buy dog food, go to the mall and do some grocery shopping. While driving to the mall, the sweet thing said, "Mom, your arms are looking a lot slimmer. You're doing great. You're starting to look different." Bless his little pea pickin heart!!! At the grocery store I saw a pair of beaded flip flops that were so cute. He tells me, "Aw mom, go ahead and get them. Your ankles aren't puffy anymore and you can see your shins!"
I wanted to just hug him. Then at the grocery store I was wandering around in circles looking for soy milk. When I told him what I wanted he told me "no." I was dumbfounded. Why? His response? "Mom, you're getting healthy and beautiful. Real milk has Calcium. You need calcium for your bones. With all the exercise you do you need your bones to be strong. Milk also helps you lose weight. I'm not conviced that soy milk is any better for you. Matter of fact, I heard that it's over rated. Let's go get the skim milk."
There you have it folks!! This coming from a young man who was not happy about my being banded. WOO HOO!!! Life is good. :biggrin2:
