80's Trivia

Oh yeah, let's bring back big hair, cut sweats, hypercolor shirts and slouch socks...(Ok so not the big hair....)

Let's rock some 80's trivia....my fave show....

On "You Can't Do That on Television", what were the two things that dropped out of the sky onto the actors' heads and what had to be said to activate them?

Alright, I'm all about the 80s but I have NEVER heard of that show BBK! :confused2: And I also have to ask, what's wrong with BIG hair?? :tt2:

  • Yep - love the 80's but I've never heard of this one either. My mom was pretty picky about what we could watch on tv - drove me nuts. I was never allowed to watch MTV! grrrr I had the big hair :tt2

  • Oh boy, big hair. Stylish, not. Erk. I used to use a can of hairspray at a time. And I had a book that had instructions for about 50 different styles of eye makup involving about five colours each,

And I agree about the commercials, they were awesome.

Oh, someone (I think Wheetsin) mentioned Mon-Chi-Chi's, I was going through some boxes last night, getting rid of a bunch of old junk, and came across one of them! HA!

I remember a girl in my class had a troll head on her pen, with a jingle bell attached to it somehow at Christmas time. Now, I don't have anything against jingle bells, and I Celebrate Christmas. What I didn't think was cool was trying to take a history test with her shaking that damn pen the whole time. When class was over, I took it from her, kept the troll/jingle bell, gave her the pen back, and stomped the crap out of the thing. I flunked that history test because it frazzled me so much.

The teacher we had for that class would give us our tests, and then go sit in the office across the hall while we took the tests. He was such a hardass that no one ever talked or cheated on his tests because he would pop in unexpectedly, or listen on the intercom, and if you were ever caught, HELL to pay.... Which is why I waited until class was over....

Norfin trolls, I think they were called.

Also popular were the little fuzzy teddybears (very short fuzz). We put them on pens, turned them into pins, etc.

Almost as cool as scratch & sniff stickers!

ok no bites on my trivia so I'll tell you. Her name is Stacy Fergusen A.K.A "Fergie" from the Black-Eyed Peas. Jennifer Love Hewitt was also a cast member.

Go Wheetin!! YOu remember the theme song! Are you walking around humming it now like I am.....AHHHHH.....make it go away.LOL

Oh I remember KIDS Incorporated. Stacy had a big poof flower and always wore ties/clips in her shirts. The boys name on there was Ryan something and Martika was on there. She had one hit song in the 80's - Toy Soldier. I loved that show when I was a kid - I now have the theme song in my head - thanks alot - lol

Yeah, thanks a lot!! I have been chuckling about KIDS Incorporated all day!! I just couldn't believe it when I realized it was Fergie!!! Even my DH came to see the video!! LOL

Ok, most of you are younger than me and are totally losing me on some of this stuff! :smile2: And (dare I admit) I remember a few things because of my son (TV shows, games, etc.). :P He was born in 90.

As a teen I was at a Whitesnake concert and had my hair in a banana clip. Some guy sitting behind me thought it would be cool to light my hair on fire! No major damage, luckily!

I had a girl and a boy monchichi. They could suck their thumbs I think...

I also had a small doll that I can't remember what it was called. She had this big "skirt" that, when on, would cover this round 3-room house she had. So cool. Anyone remember this?

Is the Hoff wearing a sweater under that jacket?????

This is truly a blast from the past. I forgot (repressed??) so many of these things...

Robin

What is a Trapper-Keeper?

Velcro three-panel folder (flap, front, back). I had so many of those... hehe.

I had a girl and a boy monchichi.

Robin

LOL Okay, I've got the song in my head...

Monchichi, monchichi...you're so soft and cud-dle-ly!!!!
