Newly banded, looking for friends

Hi there,

My name is Colleen. I was banded last Monday. Still tired and trying to catch up from procedure but for the most part I am functioning. Just wanted to introduce myself and hear from other people like me now.

Hope this finds everyone well.

Colleen

Hi Colleen,

My name is Emily and I was banded on Tuesday. Yesterday was hard, to day was better till I got a tickle in my throat and thought i was ripping my stomach open with coughing :-( Its better now..lol. So I wish you luck and I like to hear/see other peoples band stories.

Welcome Colleen....I came upon this board just a few weeks ago and have found that everyone is really supportive and glad to tell their stories and offer suggestions.

I am doing well, thanks. Still waiting on approval (or denial?) from insurance. Glad the liquid diet is getting easier. How many more days do you have on straight liquids?

I eat food again on April 30th. I think the biggest thing to remember is the difference between head hunger and stomach hunger. I am never stomach hungry but I fight head hunger a lot. I hope your insurance is quick for you.

Hi welcome to LBT. I was banded Thursday. So far I feel great. Just very sore. My Dr was able to remove almost all the gas b4 closing me up so I havent had any pain from gas at all. Hope u get to feeling better soon!

Yes I am feeling better thank you. Day 4 was a big difference for me. Still getting winded if I try too much but feeling more normal..Looks like you had quite a fight to get your surgery covered? geese !! Im glad you kept on..

Hi Coleen,

I am also newly banded. I had the surgery last Tuesday. I expected to be feeling a little stronger by now but I am getting better every day.

I woke up with four incisions. One of them is about three inches. I thought they would all be smaller ones. What did everyone else have?

Lisa

Hi Lynne,

Glad to hear your surgery went well. How many days did you have to take off from work? that's pretty awesome tha your doctor was able to get all of the gas before closing you up:)

Take Care and keep us posted of your progress. I am scheduled for April 30th.
