    Nymph's July Exercise Challenge

Ha Cindy, thats a good one!!! If you figure out that osmosis thing you could probably make some serious money...lol. Today was the first day I think my band worked. I have been sooo excited. My husband and I went to lunch and I had a small (appetizer) portion of eggplant parm w/o pasta, I did not drink with it, and it was the FIRST time since surgery that I have felt full off of a really small amount of food. AND I stayed full for several hours... like almost 5. Anyway, Im pretty jazzed, I have to travel on June 30th and July 1st but Ill begin my portion of the challenge when I get to my destination. Good luck all!!~lulu

    Not Losing Weight

Hi! this is a great thread! I was banded on April 15th, at 207lbs I currently weigh 197. Its been frustrating to say the least. I had my second fill this past tuesday. I have a 10 cc band with 5 cc's in it. (I think thats right anyway) I became very motivated with this second fill. One thing I am trying to be more strict about is not drinking while I eat. I am usually "uncomfortable" before I am full, although this morning I had a bowl of oatmeal, the package one and I think I am actually feeling full. I am trying to get myself to check in here more often again. I really think it helps. I have also had to admit to myself that I wanted a quick fix. a magic wand...bummer man..lol Ill check in later and see how you all are doing. Thanks for sharing! :tt2:

    Nymph's July Exercise Challenge

Hi ladies... yes I could use a challenge. I have to think realistically, I will be in HOT south carolina, soooo Hollyberries....Water Aerobics.........20 Hours......................0 Sades...........Walking...................25 Hours......................0 hhilulu..........walking/jogging.........16 hours.......................0 hhilulu..........swimming.................9 hours........................0 I was banded April 15th this year. I am really struggling, I do not feel much restriction, and I definitely still have a love affair with food :-( however I have done better with exercise and I am going to try to get back on here everyday, it seems to help. any words of wisdom?? good luck!!
  6. Hey gwen, I think its normal.. I was banded on April 15th, and I have really only been feeling normal (pain wise) for about 2 weeks. And about 1/12 weeks post op, I know i pushed too hard and was put back. Fatigued, sore all over again... and so on. Unless you are having very specific pain, my guess is you just need to take it easy. That being said, you know your body better than anyone and if you think there is a problem you should call your Dr. I wish you all the lucK!

    Hi, fellow thirty-somethings =)

Hi 30's... i should have read this post a while ago... 35 here, as of May and I also love 80's big hair bands and the whole thing. NKOTB ehh...lol i think i knew the dance and that was about it.lol I am also going to the heart, journey, cheap trick concert. I live in St Louis, and was banded by Dr. Wagner on 4/15/08. I lost 10 lbs pre surgery and had lost 12 since, however the last two weeks before my fill were hard, I pretty much felt back to normal... like pre-surgery normal, and gained back about 4. I just had my first fill last tuesday. I am now feeling like I am eating much less and hope for better results. I wish all luck and look forward to following this thread more closely.
  8. Hi Jac. Our stats seem similar.. I am in st louis, I had my band on 4/15/08. I don't get my first fill until this coming Tues (5/27/08) I lost in the first two weeks and not much since then. I am trying to not gain but i feel as though I can pretty much eat what ever I want, although admittedly maybe not quite as much. I would love to keep in touch at least with out fills and all. what has happened since yours? good luck!!!

    April bandsters- roll call!

Name: Emily Date you were banded: April 15th Weight loss to date: 10ish lbs since day of surgery How are you feeling? Frustrated, I am having a hard time staying on the diet. I feel exactly like I did before surgery I felt like I could eat everything normal three weeks post op... :rolleyes2: I get my first fill on Tuesday... I am trying to up my exercise.. I started at 217 surgery day 206 current 195 ish... depends on the day Anyone else with similar stats?
  10. Its too bad your Dr's didn't tell you more about the first month. My Dr told me that I shouldn't expect to loose much weight at all. I was banded on April 15th, and I am not scheduled for my first fill until the 27th of May. My hunger is coming back but I am just trying really hard to keep the portions small. When did the traffic clear from all ten lanes for yall? Im wishing us all much success!

    Was It Worth It?

Its interesting to me that the fills didn't help you either... could you even feel a difference after you had them? That is too bad for you, I plan on staying with weigh watchers myself, (my mom and I had started a while back and I think it is the most logical eating program, so I plan on continuing regardless of my band) I was banded on April 15th, at 206lbs. I would like to weigh 135. I am down about 5 lbs.. and have my first post op tomorrow. I think its important for us all to remember that there is no magic thing... its and ongoing struggle, and I feel badly for you that the band didn't work as a booster/tool as it is designed.

    banded on the 15th april

Hey Morgan ... When is your post op appointment? Have the dr give you a diet guideline with a time table. Mine didn't just verbal instructions that until i came in for my post op that it was just clear liquids...:-( i called and asked for a bit more to try and stable out my stomach. I was worried with all I did yesterday I would hurt today, but I feel good this morning. Hope everybody has a GREAT Sunday. I am loving this thread and I wish everybody the best!!

    banded on the 15th april

Good for you Morgan!!!... I am smaller so my mom says the weight will come off slower. I was pretty good for the the week before surgery. I weighed 206 on surgery day. My normal weight is only around 130. I know I am smaller than some but my mom and dad have struggled and I wanted to do something to try and get a handle on this situation as soon as I could. I qualified by about 2% bmi. Since we are self pay, I didn't have to jump through too many hoops. I went out today, bought some good walking shoes, and to costco. My main discomfort is the gas pains. My shoulder and rib cage... I took the pain med, a nasal spray for the first two days and i have taken it only at night since then to get comfortable. Other than that just some liquid tylenol...gaag. lol. :-)

    banded on the 15th april

Hi guys... Im Emily (or lu) banded on the 15th also... it seems like we are all in such similar boats. Morgan, i think we have about the same situations. I have clear tape like Band-Aids over my incisions and I am allowed to shower. I have been on only clear liquids until yesterday, I called the Dr.s to complain a bit about my upset stomach... the liquid in and liquid out thing... so i was upgraded to slightly heavier soups. YIPEEE! that was awesome. I like this thread and keeping up. I am only down 3 pounds since surgery day.. i wish it was more.. considering how little i am taking in... how bout every one else? ~

  17. Hi Colleen, My name is Emily and I was banded on Tuesday. Yesterday was hard, to day was better till I got a tickle in my throat and thought i was ripping my stomach open with coughing :-( Its better now..lol. So I wish you luck and I like to hear/see other peoples band stories.

    Banded 2 days Go!!!

Hi.. congrats! I got mine on the 15th. Yesterday was hard for me, i didn't feel good at all. Today has been much better. I am hungry today and very sick of chicken broth, but doc says stay on clear liquids for the entire first week. Good luck, maybe since our dates are so close we can stay in touch with the progress!!

    Help!

Hi i had a few moments this past week. I had my band done yesterday. It is a huge life change and i would imagine we all have to process that differently. I would advise finding someone that you can talk to about the entire thing so when you do feel that way you aren't ignoring your emotions and concerns. good luck!
