I am so excited!!! My surgery is set for May 22nd. Anyone else in May?

My surgery date is May 7th here in Los Angeles Cedar Sinai hospital

My surgery is on May 13th, I started my optifast liquid diet on Tuesday for the so I'm excited and a little scared.

I am scheduled for May 20th and am so excited.

I am so excited for all of us May Banders!!!!! I am fortunate enough to be using a doctor that does not require the pre-surgery liquid diet just low carb/high protein. If I could do the liquid diet without the band chances would be that I wouldn't be doing the surgery.

I agree I did not have to either

I had my banding 3/18 and the doctor made me fast on liquid protein

for 10 days before to reduce my liver size. He said its easier to get the band on if your liver is smaller. The only thing it really did for me was to make it easier for the post surgery fasting.

Once I was in the process of getting the surgery. I stopped drinking soda and have lost the weight but it has been months and I go up and down anyway.

I am so excited for all of us too. I am already on the list but wanted to say I'm on May 16 and going to Dr. Zapata in Monterrey, Mexico (after a ton of research on him of course). My mother, who is an RN, will be accompanying me - although I am 36, LOL. My husband and I thought it would be better for her to go since she is a nurse.
