Please tell me how much you lost on your 2 week pre-op liquid diet.

Depends on which diet your Dr. has you on- My dr. puts his patients on the sugar busters diet, which is where you cut out anything white like potatoes, flour, rice etc and you eat lean Protein, veggies and 100 % whole grain foods. I lost 15 lbs on the pre-op diet. You mention yours will be liquid- you will probably lose more than I did! Good Luck!

Totally depends on the person... I lost 10 lbs, but I had been doing WW for a few months prior so I didn't get that big first-week loss that some get the first week you're on a new diet.

I had a starting BMI of just over 40 I am a 33 year old woman. I lost 11 pounds on a 12 day pre-op liquid diet. It was full liquids, protien drinks, and sugar free pudding/jello. I think it matters what age, starting weight and gender you are...as well as the type of pre-op diet they put you on...Everyone differs

I have not started mine yet I am still doing all of my testing and classes. But my friend was banded in December and she lost 23 pounds on her liquid pre-op diet. I thought this would maybe give you some insperation.

I've lost about 14 pounds in two weeks - mostly liquids with a little fat free cottage cheese, chicken breast and vegetables thrown in occasionally. But I have to do almost two months - not two weeks! My surgeon requires you lose 10% of your body weight before he'll operate so for me that's 28 pounds. I'm half of the way there. Hope to make it for my May 13 surgery date.

My pre-op diet was only for 2 days, I lost about 6 lbs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
